Howdy, folks.  My name's Dan (if you couldn't tell already), and I stumbled across this particular site from a link off another one that I post on.  I'm 32, a Paramedic with a suburban Fire Department (once again, if you couldn't tell...) married, and a father to a 4 yr old princess and a 7 month old boy.  My wife and I first went to WDW on our honeymoon in July of 94, and have been hooked ever since.  In Nov of '01, we took our daughter, who immediately got hooked as well.  (she was 2 at the time, and she STILL remembers things from the trip! )  I look forward to returning in Nov of '04, to introduce my son.  (We took him to AK for a one-day trip while we were in the area last June, but he slept through most of it.)

I'm interested in hearing what everyone has to say, especially the current and former CM's.  You guys are the ones on the front lines, dealing with idiots like me.  I always try to make sure to let the exceptional CM's know how much I appreciate their making my trip all the more magical, for myself and for my kids.  While I know there's good and bad in all jobs, it seems you guys really have a great time.  I'm curious to find out about how things work in your line of work.Plus, I'm always on the lookout for tips, hints, and the occasional informative freebie for our next trip.

Howdy, Dan!

I also have a little boy (5 months old today) who I am looking forward to getting "hooked"!   :)

That should be a great trip for you next year.  Your daughter will appreciate things even more since she will be older and I am sure your son will be delighted too.

I'll be happy to offer any tips from my CM days--granted, much has changed since I worked there, but I'll help when I can.

Hi Dan and welcome. I tend to lurk but I gotta say this is the most congenial forum I've found. I think you'll like it here.

Hi Dan, we seem to have a few things in common.  I too stumbled on this site from another one, and my son (20) is going to school to be a paramedic here in Fl. (he's already a EMT and Firefighter).

I also agree with you, I too like to hear any comments from the CMs as they will have more in-depth/not-released to the public info to pass on.

Living in Fl. all my life we used to visit Disney a lot (I mean a lot), so much that for a while I was actually sick of the place (I know, hard to believe), but about two years ago on a trip with my husband (first one alone), the magic came back and now I LOVE going (I try to go at least 3 times a year now).

Anyways, this is my first post too, and I can't wait to explore this site more.  Maybe we'll stumble into each other here in the future.

Have a Disney-kind of day.
