Hey everyone... quick question about character dining- My 3 year old daughter, a budding young artist, really wants to give Peter Pan and Sleeping Beauty a picture that she drew for them. Does anyone know if they are allowed to take it? I've never seen anyone trying to give a character something... only get signatures! I wanted to know in case there is a disney policy against it, I don't want her feelings to get hurt.

I tried contacting Disney about this exact same issue recently, they told me that bringing gifts for characters is alright as long as they are nothing too extravagant. Such as, say, anything over $50 - and that they'll usually have a CM stand nearby to accept the gift for some characters (such as Mickey and Minnie) with the character present since the characters usually don't have pockets. Face characters may have more freedom though, I'm not sure, but that would make sense to me. Also, monetary gifts of any kind are usually not allowed except in special circumstances arranged with staff because they can be regarded as "tips" and "shatter the illusion".

But they told me that giving pictures is great! The characters love to get pictures and they are not only welcomed, but cherished and encouraged. :)

But just to make sure, give the Disney park a call and ask (that's what I did, and they'll be more than happy to clarify everything and will even help make some sort of arrangement with you! ). :mickey:

The Disney Characters gladly take gifts of drawings that their fans have made for them, and like Chris said sometimes their CM assistants help them out by holding onto the drawings for them until they go on their break later, when the Characters can take the drawings backstage.

My DS drew a picture of Stitch for Stitch and the CM with Stitch said that the little blue alien would be putting it up on his wall.

Note, if you feel comfortable putting a name and address on the back of the picture, sometimes the Character will write back to thank them for the picture. But we haven't heard from Stitch yet... probably too much coffee for him that day and he forgot.

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Characters love it!

I still have a picture a little boy drew when I was "assisting" Goofy from 10 years ago.  Also have a photo that a little girl gave the Beast of her wearing her Belle gown.  Adorable!!

It is a refreshing change for the Characters to have a child give them something like that rather than the constant barrage of autograph books being thrust at them.  (Not that they mind giving autographs, of course.) ;)

I think Peter and Aurora (is that her name?) will be delighted!   :D
