CBlondeGurl:

What Mary said is pretty much right on....

I'm guessing you're Auditioning for Characters?  I spent 8 years as a WDW CM, and my ex-wife was (and I think still is) a WDW character.  (in fact, she posed for the last WDW Winnie the Pooh Postcard--her favorite!! )

The audition is basically two parts.....you'll get taught a simple routine, in a group setting, and then be asked to repeat it.

I THINK  it's a group teaching session, and then you repeat it solo, but I'm not positive.

Then there's animation---you'll be asked to "mime" certain behaviors etc.

If you have a dance background, you should be fine.  Just Smile, Smile, Smile--and keep a positive attitude.

Good luck, and keep us posted.

To answer your qustion Scott, I am pretty much auditioning for everything!  I will be at the Animal Kingdom Rehearsal facility at 10:00am to do the "dance" audition, then the Equity actors go on at 12:00...by the way anyone know what an equity actor is?  Is that a dumb question?  Since I dont know what it is I am assuming I go to the non-equity audition at 1:00pm where I will be performing a one minute monologue and 16 bars of "A Whole New World" AND at the same time you do that you can ask to be considered as a "Face Character"....so as you can see its gonna be a busy day!  :hurt: Thanks for everyones replies...keep em comin!!!

There is a union known as Actors Equity, so maybe that means that particular audition period is only for those in that union?

I'd think that after you get hired by Disney (note that I did not say if you get hired... I have faith in you!  :pixiedust: ) that you'll be given an opporTOONity to join Actors Equity. That probably will give you a "leg up" so to speak  :wink2: in future auditions.

You are so correct about ballet being the foundation.  But, I am sure that they will incorporate hip-hop, jazz and possibly tap as well, with possible singing.  This is from a friend who upon graduation worked for a cruise line in their review (met her hubby there too! ) as well as at Opryland and Busch Gardens in Williamsburg.  She was ballet trained primarily, but has exposure to jazz and tap as well.  Go take some classes in anything that you think you might not be so up on.  This will give you confidence as well.  You still have time!  Believe in yourself as well! :pixiedust:

I just got the WORST news ever!!! I called the audition hotline to once again confirm the date and time of the audition....and was told that the auditions for the next 2 months are for Tokyo Disney ONLY!!!  :unhappy: I have listened to that recording soooo many times and have never heard an audition for a specific place like that.  Maybe its a sign?

CBlondgurl:

I don't know how it works for non CM's, but the TDL thing used to be a pretty good deal!!

There's per diem money, accomodations paid for, and really good salary....It's like a 6 month contract.

And what an Adventure!!  Don't rule it out.....
