Hey Everyone I am new here   someone suggested that I come here and chat with you all to get some answers to questions I have, and from what i've been reading...I came to the right place!   My name is Chrissy and I will be going down to Orlando in September to Audition!!!  I am so excited and nervous at the same time.  I have been waiting all my life to finally go down there and give it my all.  I want to do anything that has to do with performing and not neccesarily running an attraction.  so I will be doing 16 bars and a one minute monologue, and from what I understand at the same time you do that you can also be considered for a face character??? I dunno all this information they have been giving me seems a little confusing.  I guess my first question would be...what are the auditions like?  I think if i sort of knew what to expect i wouldnt be as nervous.  Its crazy I've done auditions before and not been nearly as nervous as i am for this one...i guess cuz i want it so bad.  Well thats all for now thanks everyone soooo much!
ps-also this is my first time posting...if i did something wrong let me know :punched:

Yoo Hoo, Chrissy / CBlondEgurl!

You're doing swell! No problems with how you wrote your message at all.

Welcome to the Disney Echo, Chrissy. Here's a special "lucky" pair of Disney EchoEars for you so you can, uh, "break a leg" at your audition. (Sounds rather painful, but that's what the folks in show biz say...)

As you know, that hat is filled with all sorts of Disney Magic!

I've never tried out to be a Disney Character, but I did have a one-on-one interview with Disney Imagineering. I'm sure others here will join in with their advice to you, but the best I can offer (and it is said often, but that's because it is so true) is for you to be yourself.

You'll be at your best when you are just being naturally you and not trying to be something you're not and also when you're not worrying and fretting about it. Relax (as best you can) and be yourself! Remember to keep your Disney dreams alive and even if you don't get what you want the first time, never give up on your Dreams.

Here's some pixie dust to help you, too!
:pixiedust:

Welcome to the Disney Echo too from me!
As part of a crossover program for cast members, I got to work in a seasonal show one Christmas way back in 1989, and I only got to do it after auditioning about 3 or 4 times. I just kept on trying! After awhile I realized that the best way to handle an audition was to just take a few deep breaths and relax and enjoy the moment, sort of make it a fun experience. I put too much pressure on myself in the beginning. That is the best advice I can give you, except that above all else remember to, Smile, Smile, Smile!
Good luck - somebody's gonna get that part, and why not you, - right! :mickey:

I wish there weren't any pressure but unfortunately there is :( see my very serious boyfriend has already been accepted to Full Sail (im sure you've heard of it) but he says that if I dont move down there than hes not ahhh i dont wanna ruin his life ya know?  If i dont get anything at Disney right away are there other good jobs available during the winter months? We live in Myrtle Beach SC and around here its like a ghost town in winter and almost impossible to find a job during this time if you dont already have one.

I have never been to the Dance audition but I can tell you that the tourism industry offers alot of jobs...but its ultimately your descion on whether or not YOU want to come down to work or other wise....

Dont let the thought of your boyfriend pending descion get in the way of what YOU want to do with your life.

Let me know if you have any other questions :D

Wow!  This sounds so exciting!  As a stay at home mom of 3 boys, I'm jealous!  Whatever you decide with your bf, take advantage of this opportunity and don't worry about him!  Break a leg! :minnie:

Congratulations on your upcoming audition!!!  I work for a professional ballet company here in New England, and have witnessed multiple auditions.  While it isn't Disney (that's for sure LOL ), there are sure to be some similarities.  If there isn't a required leotard/dance attire, wear something that will set you apart.  I don't mean a boa and pasties  :o , but a great color that compliments your skin tone.  Have your hair back, off your face and secured so that you don't have to worry about it falling out of place.  Get to the audition early, fill out your application (if you haven't already) and collect your number.  Now, look around and find an area where you can warm up.  There will surely be a warm up class before the actual audition, but usually artistic directors are watching the class as well.  During the whole thing, relax and SMILE   smile    smile   !!!!!  You have to trust that all the training you have had will come through for you!  And have fun!!  This is Disney after all  :D !

Now, in ballet before a performance, we have the ultimate way of saying "Break a Leg" and it is "Merde"!!  So, I wish you "Merde" and please write back about it all! :pixiedust:   (and I am throwing in some pixie dust as well! )

Mary,
Ballet is what I am most trained in and serious about... I wonder what kind of dancing they will have us do?  But I believe that ballet is the foundation to all dancing!  I'm hoping that this audition wont have a lot of people-less intimidating! :o
