:minnie:

Is there a hairdresser or nail salon at the Poly? or any other resort?

My daughters (15, 15, 12) and I like to get our hair or nails done as a special treat. Don't know if we will have time to indulge, but just wondering. After all, the guys can go to the barbershop on Main St.

I'm not very familiar with the Poly, so I have absolutely no idea about a salon there.  If that's where you're staying I would call the hotel and ask the front desk.  Now, that being said, I believe the Contemporary and the Grand Floridian both have salons.  Since these are just a monorail stop away from the Poly, they may be a good alternative.  Also, for the 12 year old, have you thought about going to the Main Street Barber Shop and having them put color and "pixie" dust in her hair?  My daughter is 9 and saw this in a Disney Magazine article and cannot wait to do it!  I hear they also will do french braids and other styles as well.  We go in September, so I guess we'll see how it goes.  Hope this helps.  Have fun on your trip! :minnie:

I told my daughters about the barbershop and they want french braids and pixie dust. We are going in November when the schools in NJ are closed for teacher conventions on Thursday and Friday, and half days Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. When it gets closer, I'll call to see if they have appointments. I guess my husband will have some time to be relax on a hammock at the Poly.

Thanks,
Sue

I had my hair cut by Michal for the first time in the Main Street Barber Shop on our trip this month. My son had previously had his very first haircut about 7 years ago, also by Michal.

I had so much pixie dust put into my hair that I had plenty to share with Carol and Michael, shaking my head over theirs to spread the magic to them.
:)

I like the new location of the barber shop right on Town Square, and I love getting my hair cut there. It was only a few dollars higher than what I pay at home. Plus, I've never had the barber shop quartet come in while I was getting my hair cut at home, serenading me and even taking a request for "Minnie's Yoo Hoo"

:D

My husband used to sing with a barbershop chorus in Teaneck, NJ and when we were in WDW in 1998 he sang with the quartet at the barbershop. Whata thrill. I believe the quartet is from the Florida based chorus, the Dapper Dans.

We went to Disneyland in 2001, but I can't wait to get back to WDW in November.

Thanks for letting me know the barbershop has moved. I would have been disappointed if I missed it.

Sue
