I got my tickets as well!    We're attending the Oct 19th event  :) !

Greg

I've ordered our tix for the 19th also!  We've been to the MVMCP in Dec. 2001- the opening night was very crowded.  Hope the MNSSHP is a little more manageable.

I will be attending MNSSHP on October 3.  I cannot wait!  I have never had the chance to attend any of the holiday events before, so I am really looking forward to it.  I am going with my cousin and her family and every year when we take our kids trick or treating together we say we should dress up, but we never actually do, so this might be the incentive we need!

You should dress up!  How much fun!  Especially for the picture by Cinderella's carriage.  Heck, even my dullard, not getting into the spirit of things husband is considering dressing up (or, rather, was, until my 3 year old said Daddy should go as Daisy Duck...).  Do it!  Dress up!  How fun!

Where will you be staying, disgal? We'll be at the Polynesian, hopefully in our favorite room in Fiji, and going to that Oct. 3rd MNNSHP just like you.

As I wrote before, Michael will be dressed as Michael the Archangel, minus the wings (he thinks they make him look to "girly").
:)

So look for 2 adults and one almost-8 year old when you're there... Michael will have a shield and if they let him a plastic sword, too.

Carol and I haven't decided if we'll dress up or what we'll wear if we do.

I've moved this topic to the WDW area instead of the Fort Wilderness area. Sorry I didn't put it where it belongs earlier!

Rich,
We will be at the Wilderness Lodge!  We are a large group of 15 and (my cousin and I) are trying to get everyone to dress up, so we should be hard to miss!  She was thinking "theme" costumes, but our husbands haven't quite agreed yet.  They are thinking more like "pirate".  Kind-of fits the Disney thing, yet still "manly".  I told mine if he wants to dress up like Johnny Depp I would certainly be ok with that! LOL

Rules for wearing costumes at MNSSHP

I emailed WDW with the following question:

Yoo Hoo!

We (wife Carol, 7 1/2-year-old son Michael, and me) have tickets to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party for October 3rd. My son wants to wear a commercially-bought (at a Christian bookstore) Michael the Archangel costume, which would be a plastic breastplate, plastic armor hat which doesn't go in front of the face, and plastic sword. Are there any costume restrictions for MNNSHP that we should know about? I've seen plastic swords for sale in the shop outside Pirates of the Caribbean, so I *think* y'all are okay with plastic swords (obviously toy fakes) at the party, but I wanted to make sure.

Also, is it okay for us parents to dress up, too?

Thanks in advance for responding to my questions. You guys are the best!

If you're thinking at all about going to MNSSHP, you'd better get your tickets...NOW!! We've had ours since May and they are selling out fast. NoRmally we don't go on Oct 31, ....usually around the 10th or the 17th, and it's still crowded! But, this year, we're attending with friends and it's their son's 10th birthday, so the 31st it is. Would you believe that the LTT is sold out for dinner? Yup! We usually go to the MK around 4 p.m. in costume and have dinner at the Crystal Palace, but we can't make ressie's until Sept 1. This year we wanted the LTT.... So, it looks like we'll be doing the Crystal Palace  again this year, unless we can get dinner ressies in the castle! LOL! That would be soooo neat! If nothing else, do go early and get your picture taken right away as the lines do fill up. Last year we ate at Tony's and went directly to Small World. As there was no one else around yet, we sailed around it for 5 times! Then, as that's one of the places to have your pic taken, we did that as soon as they were finished setting up! The park doesn't ease up at any time, even after 9 p.m., and, if anything it gets more packed, so you better get there early. Also, don't forget that there are 2 parades, so if you miss the first one, go for the second one! This is definitely a *DO NOT MISS*! There is lots of trick-or-treating and the kids really have a blast with this one Uh, DH and I are both 57 and always wear a costume, but it's not necessary. You should see the looks and interactions of the characters when we go for dinner all dressed up...we love those character meals! :flag2:

Yoo Hoo, Maggie!

We'll be at MNSSHP on Friday, October 3rd and we have 5:45 pm PS for the Liberty Tree Tavern.
:tounge:

Since we'll be arriving at the MK sometime before the party starts (not sure how early we'll get there, but our PS is before the party, that's for sure), how early do they hand out the party wristbands and where's the best place to get them?
:help:

Way to go! That's a great day and time. What they've usually done when we do it that way, is to ask if we have tickets for MNSSHP, as I think they don't let people in after a certain time. Then, of course, we do, and they give us our wristband right there on the spot. If you go earlier and they don't give you the wristband, go to *Guest Services* and I'm sure they'll give it to you there. Have a great time! This is one of the better days to go and the food at LTT is wonderful. I hope you're going in costume as you'll really have some fun with the charactyers and will be able to get some great photos! Oh! Last year my hubby went as Zorro and carried a plastic sword, so I don't think you'll have a problem in that department. The year before he was a *monster* and scared poor Eyore half to death....I had to soothe him and Pooh with hugs and reassurances that we loved them both. :pirate:
