Yoo Hoo, Disney EchoEars and happy holidays, everyone!

Well, folks, fire up that VCR and plan to take some time out from your Christmas shopping, because The Disney Channel and a couple of other cable networks will be bringing you quite a few shows in or about the Disney theme parks in the next two weeks. (And let's face it, doesn't sitting in front of your TV sipping a hot chocolate or a hot cider and watching a show about your favorite Disney theme park sound a lot nicer than fighting the crowds at the mall? Sure does to me...)

The TV programming elves have tried to be as fair as possible; there's a good mix of DL and WDW shows this time, and a couple of the shows are new or haven't been seen on TV in a while. Sound good? Great - let's get started!

(As always, all times listed are PST and all shows are on The Disney Channel unless otherwise noted.)

A. Shows About Disney Theme Parks & Resorts

Friday, December 14, 2:00 a.m.: Walt Disney Presents - "Christmas at Walt Disney World."
This 1978 show features pantomime artists Shields and Yarnell as robots vacationing at Walt Disney World. Also featuring Andrea MacArdle, Avery Schrieber, and Phyllis Diller.

Monday, December 17, 2:00 a.m.: Walt Disney Presents - "The Mouseketeers at Walt Disney World".
Members of the New Mickey Mouse Club (Poster's note: That's the 1977 MMC, not the 80's one with Britney and Christina!) travel to Florida to perform and explore the Vacation Kingdom.  Featuring Jo Anne Worley, Ronnie Schell, and Dennis Underwood.

Wednesday, December 19, 2:00 a.m.: Walt Disney Presents - "Disneyland 10th Anniversary Show."
Walt and 1965 Disneyland Ambassador Julie Reihm tour the Park's attractions and have a look at some attractions to come, such as the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Thursday, December 20, 2:00 a.m.: Walt Disney Presents - "Disneyland Around The Seasons."
Walt shows us the Happiest Place on Earth at various times throughout the year and shows off his latest attractions (such as "Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln", New Orleans Square, and "it's a small world") and gives us a peek at the attractions to come ("Pirates of the Caribbean") in this 1966 program.

Sunday, December 23, 11:30 a.m., Travel Channel: Great Hotels - "Disney's Grand Floridian."
Host Samantha Brown shows us the premier hotel of the Walt Disney World resort.

B. Shows With Segments About Disney Theme Parks

Monday, December 17, 5:00 p.m. & 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 22, 9:00 a.m.,  Travel Channel: "Family Vacation In Orlando."
Attractions in Orlando, FL, include Walt Disney World, Sea World, the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Universal Studios, and Cypress Gardens.
(Poster's note: This program contains only a couple of minutes of footage of the Walt Disney World Resort; there has been some negative feedback on rec.arts.disney.parks about the lack of Disney
footage in this program.)

C.  Shows Taking Place At Disney Theme Parks

Wednesday, December 12, 3:30 p.m., WGN: Family Matters - "We're Going To Disney World (part 1)."
As a finalist in an inventors contest, Steve invites the Winslows on his trip to Walt Disney World, where Laura has a fantasy romance---with Stefan Urquelle.

Thursday, December 13, 3:30 p.m., WGN:  Family Matters - "We're Going To Disney World (conclusion)."
Myra rushes to Walt Disney World, fearing something is amiss with Steve - and it's no Mickey Mouse worry: He's proposed to Laura by the time Myra arrives.

Thursday, December 13, 2:00 a.m. and Friday, December 21, 2:00 a.m.: Walt Disney Presents - "A Disney Christmas Gift."
A holiday salute from Disneyland features scenes from classic Disney animated  films, including "Bambi, "Cinderella, "Peter Pan", and The Rescuers."

Monday, December 17, 3:00 p.m., WGN:  Full House - "The House Meets The Mouse (Part 1)."
The Tanner family visits Walt Disney World.

Tuesday, December 18, 3:00 p.m., WGN: Full House - "The House Meets The Mouse (conclusion)."
Jesse & Jimmy have an unexpected visitor during their underwater radio show at Epcot; Danny proposes to Vicky.

Friday, December 21, 11:00 a.m., ESPN2:  Golf - "Oldsmobile Scramble."
Replay of the Oldsmobile Scramble National Finals, held in October at Walt Disney World.

Wow, that's a lot of shows - better add some video cassettes to your Christmas shopping list! :)
Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season (in particular, I'd like to wish a Happy Hanukkah to our Jewish friends out there), and I'll talk to you again soon. Take care!
