Hello all,

I just posted a pictorial update from the Disneyland Resort.
It includes pictures from both parks as well as Downtown Disney.
Featured are the Brother Bear promotional plugs around the resort.
Also we take a look at the rehad/closed attractions in Disneyland.
As well as our assortment of shots from both parks.

The exterior of Tower of Terror is just about finished. Monday we
will have a Construction progress section online with more shots.

We have also upgraded our hosting plans and switched servers, so you should experience a quicker website with less broken links.

Enjoy,

Thanks for sharing what you know with us here and for keeping us informed about the new pictures!

What do you think of the changes they made to Disney's California Adventure to promote the Brother Bear movie? It looks like the change isn't temporary but will be permanent. Do you think it is a good idea?

Hello,

I have heard the rumors that the changes will be around for a while.  It will be interesting to see the new storytelling show out in the Redwood Creek Area.  I have read the press release and see the Disney PR pictures for the show.  The Brother Bear characters look slightly strange to me, the eyes seem to pop out too much or something.  After the show debuts (November 1st) I will attend and post pictures and an opinion to my website.

On a related topic, it will be curious to see how they explain a movie that takes place in Canada as being related to California.  I read a rumor that many of the canadian visual references in the film were modified to be more generic so they would match DCA.   Should be interesting to watch the movie and then go to DCA and see how it works or doesn't work.

Jason

Yes, I saw the report that top Disney brass "convinced" the animators how great it would be for them to superimpose a new look to their mountain range, making it look more like the bear mountain at DCA -- plus apparently changing the film's location from Canada to "the wilderness" so it could better fit the California theme at DCA.

Early reviews of Brother Bear are in at rottentomatoes.com and from that one negative review it doesn't look like DCA will get much benefit out of management's tinkering with the movie.

Be sure and read the update about this here on the Disney Echo.
