Hey yeah, what a cool idea! Here  :minnie:  you can dress up in a Minnie Mouse costume and I'll pass you off as one of those big stuffed Minnies the Disney stores sell.

Something maybe like this?
:hula:

"Yeah it's a gift for my niece! Really! Wha? You said then why am I take it to Disneyland instead of from it? Well uh because I'm meeting my niece there! Yeah that's right! No?"

"What's that, sir? Why am I bringing a proto Pal Minnie to Disneyland? When she's meant for WDW? Yes sir, I know that sir, that's why she's so much larger, the internal antenna needs to be able to pick up her signals being broadcast from  back in Florida, new technology, sir, just testing to make sure we can receive the signal all the way out here........right?" :minnie:

I skim around on Mouse Planet and Laughing Place, two sites where a lot of those who post frequent Disneyland, also MiceAge.  You'll still have a wonderful time there.  But be forewarned a lot of rides are closed for rehab, Big Thunder and Space Mountain are down long term.  Since some of the rides aren't operational there is no place for the crowds to be absorbed into, so you might find the walkways particularly crowded and long waits for what is open.  Management just changed out there, and Michael Ouimet (his name) is working on getting the park more shipshape than previous management did and they're all working on special plans for Disneyland's 50th Anniversary in July 2005.  Take an understanding of the state of flux this park is in into your heart, forgive them, and take in and enjoy the loveliness of DL as it is for what it is during the time of your visit.  Those who print online negatively about the park grew up with frequently visiting it in times that were better for management and maintaining it as Walt Disney envisioned it, and since those times things changed for those writers.  Ignore their negativity but simply realize new management is in place who, everyone hopes, will improve matters.  Enjoy the park, and congrats on having the trip pre-paid already!

Thanks for the congrats Carol! :minnie:

Everything you said to me makes perfect sense, I think. If there are differences in the park I don't know about apart from three rides or so shut down for maintenance then I'm sure I won't notice.

When you say that new management is working on getting the park shaped up, does that mean they're going to do something about the Tomorrowland problem Rich had once explained to me in another message? Rich had said that there's not much left of Tomorrowland compared to WDW, it would be great if new management has plans to add to it or whatever it is that needs to be done.

But I'm so excited about going that I'm sure I'll enjoy it anyway  I can't imagine not enjoying Christmas at Disneyland! And to be safe I'm following your advice. And I want to see the Roger Rabbit ride! :)

Even as we write about this, Disneyland is constructing a Buzz Lightyear attraction in Tomorrowland. And word is that it will be like the better one found at Tokyo Disneyland rather than a clone of the one at WDW's Magic Kingdom. There has also been activity along the Rocket Rods track as well as inside the area where Disneyland's Submarine Voyage had been. So hopefully things are looking up!
