we always stay on the top floor, so there is no problem keeping them open.  Also for the view and that the kids won't sleep late. I always get up by the latest 6:30.
We just got back so I'll catch up on my sleep tonight!

Depends on where we are staying.  When we are at the All Stars we keep the curtains closed most of the time...Don't want people to watch us sleep now do we??(or maybe we could charge money for that??  :eyebrow:  )
On our honeymoon my DH and I were at the Wilderness Lodge Concierge so we kept the curtains open at night...Up too high for anyone to see anything  :D

Greetings!  This is my first post as a new member!

Curtains?    I didnt KNOW the curtains closed!

Last trip i stayed at 2 different areas of the Grand Flo. One
lagoon view and the other the most perfect view ever of the Magic Kingdom.   I could watch the castle turn colors all night.

At the Contemporary I have only faced the castle.  And i dragged the bedspread off the bed to wrap myself in and sat on a chair on the balcony to watch the castle change colors.

One trip i was staying in Sugarloaf at the Grand Flo.   I pulled the inner sheer curtains there becasue the boats were kept right outside there and i was on the 2nd floor.

THIS IS WHERE I NEED YOUR HELP!    I will be going down in 2 weeks for 6 nights and days.   It looks like i will be staying at the Beach Club.  Any info or suggestions you can post would be great.   I bet there is another listing for questions on this site and i will search for that to post the question.

Thanks so much... :hula:

Yes, I see you've already found the Yacht & Beach Club Resort forum and posted your question there, Flo.

Congratulations on your upcoming WDW trip and thank you for joining the Disney Echo! Here's a pair of Disney EchoEars I picked out for you which I think are very appropriate since you'll be staying at the Beach Club:

Have a magical vacation, Flo!

I like the curtains open but I have forgotten a few times that they are open when getting out of the shower or changing. This is not a problem during the day because the tint helps with how much you can see in but at night you can see right in. Sorry if you were any of the guests who were walking by the beach then. Hopefully the fireworks were a good distraction.

If not leave tips at the door….just kidding.

Aloha

Steve

Close those curtains!!! And give me a Mousekesleepmask while you're at it too!. I just got back this week, and the street light was right outside my window. I couldn't tell if it was day of night. It was always bright. LOL. And I couldn't get the drapes all the way closed to block the light in the corners out.
I never even look out the window, so I'm so glad I don't pay extra for the view. :sleepy:

Oh I forgot to mention this was at the Caribbean Beach Resort. If I were in a MK view resort with no one walking by the window it might be a different story.

But then I would never get any sleep. :hearts:

I must be in a poll taking mood today, that or being a mere 67 days from our next Disney trip is causing my Disneytude to go into overdrive. I haven't slept at a resort yet but I'm pretty sure I'll have the curtains open at the WL. I may just camp out on the floor with my pillow on the balconey! :wink2:

Recently at AKL we would leave the drapes closed...our savanah view room was a bit too well lighted with the artificial "moonlight" and besides, they do warn you that there are cameras everywhere...so, the curtains remained closed at night!

I always close the curtains.  I don't want anyone looking into my room when I am there.  Also, if the curtains are open, I am constantly looking out the window and planning the next day.  I would never get any sleep if they were open.

And, I recommend bringing a couple of clothespins with you to get the curtains closed all of the way.  Attach a few to the curtains and you can block out most of the light. :D

Well 95% of the time we stay in our camper in Fort Wilderness with the curtains closed. BUT.... When we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge we kept them wide open. When we stayed at the All Star we kept them closed and when we stayed at the Contemporary(best view we ever had) we kept them wide open.
