When you are staying concierge and have told concierge that you will be celebrating your son's birthday and wanted something special done, how is the charge for this handled??l

My family and I will be at Poly concierge for my daughter's third birthday (last day of the trip).  I listed the birthday on the itinerary planner in the special occasions section and also requested assistance in getting a cake delivered to Chef Mickey's where we have PS's for the birthday dinner.  I was contacted by one of the planners and she told me that they always provide a cake in the room and decorations for a child's birthday and wondered if I really needed another cake at CM's as CM's always provides a cupcake, etc. for the birthday celebrant.  I decided that would be enough for us.

I think if you want anything additional purchased for you son's birthday, you can probably supply credit card information and it would be taken care of that way.

I can't wait to get there!!!

I've only stayed non-concierge and have mentioned my birthday as being celebrated during our stay at the Polynesian when I made my reservation -- I didn't treat it as a must-have which you'll obviously want to do with your son but looked on it as it would be nice if they helped us make in an even more magical vacation in some way for that celebration but that I wouldn't be upset if nothing was done. That being said, I was very pleasantly surprised to see balloons and birthday cake waiting for us in our room when we checked in. This was a freebie they threw in and didn't charge us extra for (but there's no guarantee that will happen).

If you want to guarantee something will be done, you can arrange with concierge to buy a cake.

I guess they could tell I'm still a child at heart.

We stayed concierge in late September and I mentioned that it was a belated birthday celebration for my husband and myself.   And our children 4 & 6 would love to surprise there daddy with something.  They took care of everything.  The kids got balloons, pail & coloring activies along with a photo signed by their favorite characters (which Tara asked about in advance) My husband and I got a nice bottle of champagne and chocolates the first evening.   It was very nice.  I must say staying concierge with the little touches made our trip extra special.  Enjoy your trip.
