New Orleans Times Picayune movie critic Michael H. Kleinschrodt offered a quarterly preview of films to look out for covering the popular summer movie time span. Here's his advancer on "The Country Bears" (Times Picayune "Lagniappe" entertainment weekly tabloid, May 10, 2002 page 26, July 26 release date header),
begin quoted material:
The Country Bears
Just when you got used to the idea of movies inspiring amusement park attractions, an amusement park attraction inspires a movie. This time, the culprite is Walt Disney World's Country Bear Jamboree. In the new movie, Beary Barrington (voice of Haley Joel Osment) is the greatest fan of The Country Bears, a legendary rock group that had an unbearable breakup decades ago. Now, Country Bear Hall, where the group got its start, has a date with the wrecking ball. It's up to Beary to reunite the group for a benefit performance to save the landmark. Peter Hastings' cast includes Christopher Walken, Stephen Tobolowsky, Daryl "Chill" Mitchell, Alex Rocco and Megan Fay. Voices include Diedrich Bader, Candy Ford, James Gammon, Brad Garrett and Stephen Root. Also look for appearances by musicians Don Henley, John Hiatt, Elton John, Queen Latifah, Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt and Brian Setzer. (Walt Disney)

My wife and I want to know if "Blood on the Saddle" is sung by anyone famous in this movie?
Do we form lines now to buy tickets so we're assured of getting in on opening day?
Our hopes are the movie turns out better than this advancer might otherwise indicate. Journalists are cynics, Maybe. Or not.
