Yoo Hoo, Disney EchoEars!

I'm now a Walt Disney Resorts Panel Member!
:wwww:

This morning I received an email sent to me from a Disney-authorized company that started off "Dear Walt Disney World® Resort Panel Member" and invited me to participate in "an important study for Walt Disney World® Resorts." They wrote that my input and insight will help them create a better WDW website.

The survey is being conducted by Walt Disney World® Resorts and Audience Profiler, a third-party independent marketing research firm. The email was signed "Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Research Team."

Just letting y'all know to alert you to watch your own email for a similar message from Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Online, which has the audienceprofiler.com domain. Based out of the San Francisco bay area as well as New York, the AudienceProfiler company has conducted surveys for ESPN, The New York Times, FOX News, FOX Sports, Kellogg's, Associated Press, Listen.com, Forbes, CondeNet,Proctor & Gamble, Earthlink, ABC, Showtime, and Jaguar, as well as Disney. So don't worry that you won't be clicking on a link to a Disney site for the survey questions -- AudienceProfiler is a reputable company.

The survey itself doesn't take very long to finish, and completing the survey enters you in a drawing to win one of three cash prizes - one prize worth $250 or one of two prizes worth $125 each.

Disney is testing an early prototype of a new way to book Disney vacations online, with more features than they currently have. The web pages in the survey look real and are interactive, but have very limited content and functionality. In the survey, Disney gives you two tasks to complete: to book a WDW vacation at a specific WDW resort and then revising that request to add tickets and change the resort to a different one, using their new, unreleased interface. You do not actually make a reservation and the task doesn't go so far as to provide any credit card information, so don't worry about actually making a real reservation as part of the given tasks.
:eyebrow:

Although the provided web pages' content and functions were mainly designed to test the tasks you're asked to complete, they encourage you to explore and click on anything you like - but they advise that you may get some results that do not match. I found this to be true when I changed my requested resort to the Polynesian but the Grand Floridian popped up instead.

After finishing the two tasks (which takes less than 5 minutes), they ask a few questions about what you thought about this prototype.

Wow! I'm a Walt Disney Resorts Panel Member!! Wish I had a button that said that. Gee, there's an opportunity for a tie-in with Disney Merchandising!

Yoo Hoo, Nysie!

It was fun... but the cynical side of me wonders how many millions of others are also on this "board?"
:suspect:
