We will arrive at the Polynesian on Sunday Dec. 21. :pixiedust: Checking out Dec. 27th.  What can we expect for Christmas activities?  Crowds?  Where will Christmas eve church services be held? How/where can we get a Christmas tree?  Anyway for the Disney elves to help Santa deliver our children's presents?  Our kids are 8, 5, and 5.      :santa:

     Any advice is welcome.

Christmas is a very packed time of year at all of the parks - - the Magic Kingdom especially.

Based on what has happened in years past, there is no Christmas Eve Mass anywhere on Disney property but there usually are two Mass services and perhaps a protestant service as well held each year at the Contemporary Resort's Fantasia Ballroom in the convention center on Christmas morning.

For an alternative to this or to attend Christmas Eve Mass, check out < Mary Queen of the Universe Shrine >.

For your other questions, call Guest Services or speak to a Disney reservation CM at 407-W-DISNEY.

Another option for Christmas Eve services is the church that I attend First Baptist Windermere  The main campus is located about 10 minutes north of MK.

As of right now I dont know when they will have the services but they usually have 3 or 4 offered that night.  When I hear more about when they are going to  be, I'll be sure to post them :)

If you need transportation to the church at any time of the year just give me a PM and I will give you my phone number :D

Thank you for the information about Christmas Eve services.  I was warned you all would be very friendly.   :minnie:
We will have our car, so going off site will work for us.

Are the days before Christmas less busy than after?  Would it be a good plan to visits the bigger/more populated parks early Christmas week and than go to the others Christmas day and after?

Actually the week between Christmas and New Years tends to be the busiest of the Holiday season.  Most school are out then and thats when the biz world seems to be the slowest.

I love to go down the first week of December, it's all decorated, and a lot less crowded... working in retail, I can't get off any closer than that for Christmas anyway.  I have family members who went down for many years during that week between Christmas & New Years... it was always a mad house... of course then, there was only MK & Epcot.... :santa:  :pixiedust:   Are they doing anything with the Osbourne Lights this year since they tore down the back lot houses....That was always a cool thing to see...

There will be no Osbourne Lights this year. Hopefully they'll be back next year.

Another good thing to do at Christmas is go to Epcot and hear the Candlelight Processional :) Not sure who the guest narrators are going to be but as soon as I find that information I will post it.

TTFN :)

  • Nov. 28-30: Andy Garcia
  • Dec. 1-3: Ben Vereen
  • Dec. 4-6: Rita Moreno
  • Dec. 7-9: Ericka Dunlap
  • Dec. 10-12: David Ogden Stiers
  • Dec. 13-15: Steven Curtis Chapman
  • Dec. 16-18: Edward James Olmos
  • Dec. 19-21: Sandi Patty

Wouldn't it be cool to just happen to ride Mission: SPACE at the same time that Gary Sinise does? You'd be able to see him next to you as well as in the video pre-show!

Thanks for the list, Rich! Looks like we'll be able to see both Andy Garcia and Gary Sinese this year...two of our favorites!
We usually go to the CP the day after Thanklsgiving, and this year we've added Christmas to our New Year's trip. We have plans to go the day after Christmas with some friends, too. This will be our first Christmas in WDW and we're really looking forward to it! hehehehehe....got a tree, lights, decorations and a 3 foot Santa all ready packed and ready to go! LOL!

The first time we went over Christmas was 2001.  Becuase it was so close after 9/11 - the crowds were low.

All of the Deluxe Resorts (and possibly ALL other resorts) have Santa on Christmas Eve.

Beware of the questions from your kids if you happen to hit 2 resorts in one night :)  My son (turning 3 at the time) got to sit on Santa's lap at the Wilderness Lodge.  After meeting Santa and Mickey/Minnie/Chip and Dale in the lobby, we went to have dinner at the Polynesian.  When we walked into the lobby, low and behold, there sat Santa.  I just told my son that he and his reindeer are really FAST....

Disneyluvr9 - we'll be there on the 14th for the party

FYI...

While at Epcot over the weekend I saw a friend of mine who sings for Voices of Liberty at the American Pavillion.  She told me that Voices will be singing ALL CHRISTMAS MUSIC on Sundays and Mondays starting the week after Thanksgiving :) Along with all Christmas songs they will be sporting special costumes for occasion as well  :)

ENJOY! :)
