Hi everyone!

I'm trying to firm up my itinerary for our week at Disney.  We go on a Tuesday (April 29) and come back on a Tuesday (May 6).  It's really two days of air travel, with six park/resort days in the middle.

I'm thinking after our Ohana meal at the Poly the first night, and a good night's sleep, we'll tackle the MK bright and early.

Oh, I should first say, I've got a son almost six and a daughter who is two and a half, and a hubby who is 38 and I'm 39 (turning 40 while we are there).  We are a pretty sedentary family, so that's got me a little worried, fwiw.

Okay, so MK Wednesday morning, probably going to the hotel during the early afternoon, then back maybe 5-7.

Next, we are thinking maybe Epcot or Universal on Thursday.

If we want to go back to MK, based on crowds, etc., we'll go back Friday.  What do you think, will one day at MK be enough?

Saturday is my birthday and we may do no parks, just rest after a our 11:40 priority seating at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary.  We might just have a down day, enjoying the volcano pool, etc.....

Sunday we are going to AK, bright and early, and will leave when we feel done, even if it's before 5pm when they close.  We could do Epcot's World Showcase that evening, and Illuminations.

Monday would be a good day for MGM, or perhaps Universal.  Do you all think we need a full day at MGM?  Or maybe we could do it on my birthday afternoon?  I need to look up the predicted crowds at MGM on a Saturday, but something tells me it's a good day to avoid ALL the parks, LOL.  Well, another idea would be do to MGM and Epcot, half days, this day.

Tuesday we leave in the morning.  I'm sure we'll be exhausted, but sad to go home, too.

Any and all opinions and advice welcome.  Thanks!

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

With two small children, I would definitely opt for 2 days at the MK!!!

We have two girls, 9 and 2, and I have 3 days planned for the Magic Kingdom because we enjoy it so much!  I want to add, however, that we are not park commandos.  We take our time, and take afternoon breaks for a little rest and relaxation.  So we don't actually spend 3 full days there.

We only spent 1/2 day at MGM last year and it wasn't enough time.  We needed many more hours to see everything we wanted to.  Depending on what you want to see, you may need a full day.

I think your itinerary sounds great :).

Have a wonderful trip!

Jennifer,

Your plans sound awesome!!  :)   I would definitly plan to do 2 days of MK too, course it is my favorite park so I might be a bit biased.  :wink2: I think MGM will take a day, and like you even though my dh and I love Epcot, it's not my kids favorite, so we will split it up a bit.  AK we have planned for a day with PS's at Boma that night.

I think the main thing I've gotten from many families since my planning began, is when you have kids be flexible, and it really sounds like you have that incorporated into your itinerary.  Also to make sure you have down time.  I know even when we are at home we all need this, so you can imagine how much we need it at Disney!  I'm definitley not a commando style visitor.  I'm sure our 14 and 12 year old boys will keep my dh, myself and dd 5 moving, but we will just let them keep going and we will sit down and smell the roses!

We should try and meet sometime during our stay, we will be at the Poly 4/30-5/7.  I'm also going to meet with someone I've met at passporter.com who will be staying at the Poly at the same time as us.  We thought maybe an evening by the pool would be nice.  We shared our last names with each other and promised to look each other up.  I'd be glad to do the same with you if you'd like.  Let me know.

15 days and counting for you!! WOOOHOOOO!!  :D

I would take 2 days for the MK, that way if you don't get to something the first day, you don't have to worry because you will be back!! We always go early, then head back to the hotel for a swim and some rest!!Your plans sound great!! Have a great time!!  :minnie:

Jennifer-
I just wanted to say Happy Early Birthday too you!  My b-day is on that Sunday (May 4th) and we are leaving for home on that day.  My twins will turn 3 on May 6th too.

We have decided which park we are going to start out at each day and then the rest is up in the air on the mood of the kids.  We have 4 kids who are 7/g, 5/g and twin boys who are 2 (almost 3).  We know we are not going to be able to do everything that we want, but what better excuse to have to go back in a couple years.

Yoo Hoo, Jennifer!

Also try to find Bruce Metcalf (Rufus) at the Magic Kingdom. If you send Rufus a Private MousekeMessage you might find out when he'll be working at the WDW Railroad and visit the MK that day to meet him. By the way, he's associated with PassPorter, too!

The only other suggestion I'd like to add is for you and your family to go to the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue on your birthday - - and let them know it is your birthday! You'll need ressies fast for that, though.
