I went to a Fairfield Inns and Suites timeshare presentation this past weekend in Nashville, TN. They said a lot of things about a new timeshare they are building that I found to be a bit hard to believe.  They say they are building a resort called Bonnett Creek in Orlando at WDW.  I know that WDW has a golf course by that name, but I am just trying to check the truthfulness of the timeshare pitchman.  I have several issues with what they claim will be true about this location and the benefits of ownership there. The resort has not yet been completed and there are no timeshare spots available for sale there just yet.  They claim it will be on the market in the next 2 or 3 months.

They claim that it will be located on WDW property and will not be part of DVC.  Now, why would Disney allow a company that sells nothing but timeshares build a non-DVC timeshare on property? That is just bad business to my mind.  Can anyone give me any information about if this Bonnett Creek Fairfield is actually going to be on WDW property? **NOTE...I realize that Fairfield is part of a large corporation that does lots of different travel business options, but I am focusing my thoughts only on Fairfield's timeshare business.**

They claim that buying into the Fairfield timeshare at Bonnett Creek, you will be able to use your timeshare points to stay at regular WDW owned resorts too. Now, I know you can use DVC points for staying at value, moderate, and deluxe WDW resorts, but I find this to be highly suspect.  Can anyone out there help me to debunk this?

They claim that when you buy there at Bonnett Creek, you will have the ability to have a "Universal Studios like" jump/fastpass that will allow you to go to the front of the line at every WDW attraction.  This one of the first off balance things they said in this list of questions that I am asking.  I think this has to be a load of bunk for sure.  Why would WDW allow a non-WDW timeshare resort's guests the ability to do something that DVC members can't even do?

They claim that Bonnett Creek owners will have access to half price WDW admission tickets.  Again, this sounded like a load of bull to me.

So, what do you think?  Anyone out there have any experience with Fairfield that would make you think this stuff is true?  Anyone work for the company that can provide me any information to back this stuff up?

I wouldn't mind investing in a timeshare, but I want to deal with a company that doesn't have to resort to lies and half truths to sell me something I already want. Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks Mickey

This does sound too good to be true.

Did they show you a map of where this is going to be? There is construction going on right next to Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort at the end of a brand-new road. That road was created to allow access to a non-Disney company's landlocked area in between Epcot Center Drive and I-4 - - but I don't know if this is what is under construction there. I do know that what is currently under construction there next to Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is not a Disney project but something this other company is doing.

Whether that is the new Bonnett Creek timeshare you're writing about, though, I don't know.

Hopefully some other Disney EchoEar will contribute if they know something about this.

Yep, the construction near CBR is the Fairfield Bonnet Creek resort.  I have done quite a bit of research on this and have determined my BS detector is fully functional.  lol  Mickey

You know, I bet Disney would be very interested to hear what these people told you would be the perks for buying into that timeshare.

Want to be a whistleblower? Go for it!

I find a lot of it hard to believe too. :glare:

Some of it is true. Somebody is building a big resort along Bonnet Creek immediately adjacent to WDW property. I'm willing to believe that Fairfield will be managing it as a timeshare.

As Mickey mentioned, it's location is on a landlocked piece of property surrounded by Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Pop Century Resort, and I-4.

As do I after reading your message.

They claim that it will be located on WDW property...

False. It will be next to WDW Property.

... and will not be part of DVC.

True. It won't be any part of the Disney Company.

They wouldn't. It's not on Disney proprty. But despite wishing they controlled the property around them, Disney does not. Because of the landlocked status of the location, WDW was obliged to provide them an easement and access to the road system. I'm frankly a bit surprised they didn't build them a bridge across I-4 to an off-property location.

Possibly. DVC members can swap their points for time not only at WDW Resorts, but also with a number of other timeshare companies. I wouldn't be surprised to find that Fairfield was one of the companies willing to participate in such swaps. Contact your DVC representative to be sure.

False. At present, no one has such privileges. Were WDW to change the policies for FastPass to include this feature, I strongly suspect it would apply only to those staying at a WDW Resort or DVC Timeshare.

They claim that Bonnett Creek owners will have access to half price WDW admission tickets.

False. This one I won't even dignify by suggesting it would be made available to WDW/DVC guests first -- the way admission fees are strutured there wouldn't be any way this could happen without a complete reorganization of the Company.

Shucks, even cast members can't buy admission media at half price!

Nobody with a whit of sense would try to convince you of half this rot. Some of it is clearly untrue, the rest is just too unlikely to be worth considering. Pity, I had a higher opinion of Fairfield before this.

Want some fun? Contact Fairfield and ask them to put it all in writing! :shifty:

Sounds to me like you've already eliminated one possible candidate firm....

Hmmm, I wonder what the laws are in Tennessee about recording conversations... In some states it is legal to record a conversation even with a hidden tape recorder as long as at least one person involved is okay with that. If TN has its laws like that, it sure would be interesting to get these claims on tape. I kinda doubt they'll put it in writing, as I bet you figure too, Rufus.

Disney might want to send a "tourist" to TN to just happen to stumble into being given this presentation!

Yoo Hoo, Rufus!

Bob Richmond on r.a.d.p. pointed out that there are two Fairfield companies. The Marriott Fairfield Inns are not related to Fairfield Resorts, which is the company building the Bonnet Creek Resorts time share.

You probably know this, I just wanted to point it out to others. I had thought Fairfield was the same as the Marriott Fairfield, but I was wrong.

I did not know that, I would have mentioned it if I had. Thanks for the update. My attitude about Mariott Fairfield Inns is now restored.

All I can say is, "WOW!!"  So, Fairfield is going to be next to CBR, and offer better perks than DVC (Which wouldn't be hard).  However, as others have said, Disney ain't gonna allow it.  I wish DVC would give us any kind of decent ticket discount...One of my pet peeves other than Maintenance fees.

My very first post and I've already learned something new.  I had no idea about this land-locked piece of property or the fact that another company was building on it.  Thanks for the heads-up.  I couldn't believe the claims they were making.  They are total nonsense, but this would be me, a VWL owner if it were true:
