SaveDisney.com website started by Roy Disney and Stanley Gold

Includes email addresses of Roy and Stanley

Roy Disney and Stanley Gold are now providing an official website for "discussing, analyzing and critiquing the performance, direction and management of The Walt Disney Company."

It contains direct links for you to write Roy Disney and/or Stanley Gold and the letters Roy and Stanley have written about the current situation can also be found there.

Roy Disney wrote the introduction found on the main page of the website (quoting:)

Welcome to Save Disney.com.  This website is devoted to those concerned about the welfare of The Walt Disney Company and its future direction.  Stan Gold and I plan to use this site as a central information location as we begin to restore Disney to its position as the preeminent entertainment company in the world.  We have also provided a mechanism for all interested parties to provide ideas, comments, concerns and input, and we sincerely hope that you will communicate with us.

I thank you for your concern about this wonderful Company founded by my father and uncle more than 80 years ago whose sole motivation was to provide lasting and wholesome entertainment to people around the world.  I seek your support as we embark on this extremely important mission to restore the magic and wonder to The Walt Disney Company.

Roy E. Disney

Yoo Hoo, Disney EchoEars!

Carol and I have both written Roy Disney to offer our support to his cause. I told him about the Disney Echo and that so far of those who have expressed an opinion, he has this community's 100% support.

Another message thread on the Disney Echo can be found here which includes news and discussion about this topic.

The http://www.pruiksma.com/letterofsupport.html website has been updated. It now includes news that they were informed access to the site from inside The Walt Disney Company has been blocked. They recommend word be passed along to those who cannot access their site at work that they should get to their website from home or other Internet connections rather than internally at Disney.

To participate in that petition, their deadline for submissions is midnight on December 9th.

By the way, my name is #2198 on the list.

Yoo Hoo, Disney EchoEars!

Over on LaughingPlace.com they are wondering if the SaveDisney.com website is legit or phony.

I made a phone call to Shamrock Holdings, Inc. (Roy and Stanley's company) this morning and verified that SaveDisney.com is, indeed, Roy and Stanley's own website and it is legitimate.

Also, just a reminder if you've been putting it off, but on the http://www.pruiksma.com/letterofsupport.html website, today's the last day to add your name to their online petition. Sign by midnight tonight if you support Roy and Stanley and want to help make a difference.

Roy Disney launches Web site in anti-Eisner drive

Quick quote:
Walt Disney Co. former board member Roy Disney has taken his case for ousting Chief Executive and Chairman Michael Eisner to the Internet with the launch of a Web site, www.savedisney.com.
[...]
Disney and Gold resigned in stinging letters criticizing Eisner's leadership and saying the Disney board had become a rubber stamp for Eisner. They published the letters on the Web site along with their e-mail addresses.

Collectively, the two men have received about 2,000 e-mails at the site, said Miller.

Full details.

Yoo Hoo, Disney EchoEars!

The following update has been posted on the SaveDisney.com website:

"Roy Disney and Stanley Gold greatly appreciate the thousands of e-mails they have received in response to their resignations from the Walt Disney Board and their loss of confidence in the Board and Michael Eisner.

Over the next few weeks they will be responding to each of these individually and ask for you patience as they process this tremendous volume of support."

Roy Disney Goes Online in Battle to Oust Eisner

Quick quote:
It was not enough for Roy E. Disney to send Michael D. Eisner, the chief executive of the Walt Disney Company, a letter demanding his resignation.

Now Mr. Disney, the nephew of Walt Disney, and Stanley Gold, his investment adviser, have started a Web site in the hope of touching off a grass-roots campaign to oust Mr. Eisner.
[...]
The Web site is a little homespun, even for a grass-roots shareholder revolt. It is also thin on the kind of facts about the stock's performance and Mr. Eisner's 19-year leadership that shareholders or other interested parties might want to know before joining the effort. It offers no alternatives to the current management. And most of the Disney-related Web sites mentioned seem to have no connection to any disaffection with Mr. Eisner. Some sites promote Mickey Mouse and the theme parks.

"It's a work in progress," said Cliff Miller, who works with both Mr. Disney and Mr. Gold and said the two had received thousands of e-mail messages. "We're still in the process of looking for the right person to come aboard and manage it."

Full details.

Did the writer even read any of the discussions on those websites?!?!
:o

I don't see how it could have been missed that many of the people posting messages are upset with what has happened to the parks.

Sounds like they're looking for resumes!
