While I'm usually careful about getting off topic on a Disney forum, I just have to let you guys know about Howard Dean's visit to Disney's own Coronado Springs. This is THE man who is going to whoop George Bush's butt next year, and if anybody's in the area I recommend checking this out. He's a real cool guy who is more honest, open, and funny than any of The Nine, and I think he can make a big difference in making this country better than it has ever been before. Here's a snippet from the posting:
Broward, along with all other counties in Florida, is ready for a show of Dean strength at the convention this weekend. If you are anywhere near Orlando on Saturday, or even if you aren't, at 3:00 Dean supporters from far and wide will gather at the Coronado Springs Resort at Walt Disney World, to show Florida, and for that matter the South, what the Dean for America campaign is all about.

That being said, I'll step off my soapbox and promise to stay off it for a while. Time to get busy packing for my Poly trip on the 13th!

I've moved this out of the Polynesian Resort forum as it has more to do with Walt Disney World. But if this topic dissolves into a rah-rah thread for Howard Dean, I'll be forced to move it again -- into the Off-Topic forum.

Each US state will have some kind of primary or political party nominating convention delegate choice election (aka the primaries and caucuses) in 2004, so it's not surprising that major Presidential candidates want to visit Central Florida as a campaign stop. It won't be the first time, or the last, in the coming year. They're going to be visiting Orlando, Central Florida, maybe even Disney property, a lot prior to whenever the Florida primary is. Unless it's substantively about "Disney", um, could it go to Off Topic please, or to a political discussion WWW site somewhere else? No offense, but Disney sites are one step away from "behind the berm" and a place of worldy respite and refuge. We can always follow politics on cable TV, newspapers, Internet, radio and when the candidates visit all our respective home states. Just MHO/YMMV.

I disagree, Carol, about moving this out of the Walt Disney World forum -- as long as the commercial for Howard Dean ends here. If any replies continue that type of discussion -- or start turning this thread into a political commentary -- then is the time I'll move this into the Off-Topic area.
