I just wanted to ask my fellow Echoears for prayers and pixie dust to be sent my way. My job has been stressful for the past couple of weeks because we have an employee who is a really terrible busybody who loves to gossip and cause problems for other workers including me.

I've been striving hard to be polite and agreeable throughout the whole situation but it's been taking a lot out of me personally. I'll be having a really good day and suddenly this person will unprovoked cause some dumb problem to happen or other which would be completely needless, and then I just sort of get a headache while trying to ignore it and continue about my business.

My boss tells me it's alright, he's handling it. He says he's not in the least bit upset with me and is really thrilled by my work quality, but he says he is annoyed with the other worker because that person "has serious issues".

The only problem is that for the past few days my boss has been on vacation and there was no one to keep the other individual in check. The moment he's gone the person in question is harder to handle. Today it got so ridiculous that I actually toyed for the first time with getting another job, something I don't want to do. Jobs are tough to find right now and with bills to pay and responsibilities and hopes to start making payments on a WDW dream vacation the last thing I should think about is leaving my job. So I calmly went to another supervisor who knows me and explained the situation, saying that I didn't know what to do. He said my boss will be back tomorrow and that I could discuss it with him, and in the meantime he would address the situation with said other worker. I just hope things all work out tomorrow when I show up for work.

This is one of the reasons I didn't call here for a while last week. I wasn't actually in a bad mood from it all, it could be a lot worse. Disneyecho alwyas makes me happy and I love being here and I knew it could cheer me up. But I was growing cranky from the stuff at work and didn't want to call here and post because sometimes when you're in a mood like that you can accidentally get cranky in posting, you know? :blush2: So I didn't want to take chances of that happening.

Thanks for listening everyone. I appreciate it very much. I'm doing alright, it's just irritating is all.

Disneyecho is very comforting to me. And besides, you guys' great posts and Rich's wit can always get me through an annoying day. :mickey:

Goofyteer --

I am so sorry to hear about the stresses you are going through at work.  I think this has become a theme with a lot of people right now.  My co-workers and I have adopted a mantra, "I love my job and my friends.  We will all get through this together -- with just a little luck!"

My work place hasn't been a ball of fun since my manager (my mentor and the person who taught me everything I know) was let go in January.  We have been put under someone with not nearly the depth of experience or the people skills to do the job properly.  Like you, I thought about getting another job but realized that the job market is not the greatest right now.  I am thankful to still be working.  Plus I love the people that I work with and the job that I do.  I am not going to let one person ruin what I have built in the last 8 years!

Everyday people come into my office and complain about the things going on.  I have become the confidant of the office.  During my recent performance review, I told the new manager that the office had reached an all time low in morale and that I was concerned.  She didn't seem to hold the same philosophy.  So I have decided to be the keeper of the morale!
:pixiedust:
So now I go into work everyday with a smile on my face and listen to everyone's troubles.  I spread pixie dust and hopefully get people to smile just once.  On Friday I continued my campaign by wearing a shirt that said, "What if the Hokey Pokey is really what it is all about?"  I got quite a few smiles that day and it was well worth it! :)

Just remember that we are here for you.  Start a countdown to Disney and cross every day off from the calendar (I started at day 300 -- we are now down to 95!;)  I hope that I have been somewhat encouraging.  I am sending you a big hug and a few crazy faces to hopefully get that one smile!

  :ears:  :wwww:

Howdy ho Goofyteer,

Here's some pixie dust for you *poof* :pixiedust: and try to hang in there.  Work has been miserable my way too.  I'm working at a temporary location and I'm praying every day that I get news of when I can go back to my old job.  I won't bore anyone with the details, but it has been so miserable that the only thing that's keeping me going is by just thinking over and over to myself 24 days 24 days 24 days.

I've been trying to look at it in a positive light by reminding myself that no matter how bad the job gets, it will make me enjoy my 10 day vacation even more.

The Echo has also been something for me to look forward to when I get home at nights.  It has really helped my withdrawal.

:D

everyone is all in the  same  boat these days!  My husband has been  gone since  mid June  living in  another  city  because the Airlines he works for laid off a lot of employees and  to keep his full time position he had to go  work in another city......

He commutes home on his days off and thats a  4   1/2  hr drive  one way!   Its really hard not having him here with me!  All we can say is that we are grateful he still has  a  job!   We  now have two  seperate  living expenses  which we can barely afford.....  He is staying there  until we see if he  gets  called  back here to work permanently!  If he doesnt get called back here by Jan or  Feb  we   have to  sell our house  and move to  where he  is working now!

The Company pays for our move  if we move within a  year!  We  just bought our house 2 years  ago  and we do not want to sell!    But  if we have to , to keep his  job,  then we will!   Also I    work for Disney (4 years now) and   if we move I would have to lose my  job  and then  start all over  again!
:(   :(   :(

Its a tough   situation for  a  majority of people  these  days!
Pretty sad if you ask me!

God ALWAYS  provides!
We  have  faith!!

Remember the saying "Struggles build character, that's why we have so many."

I have had many jobs that I thought were going to drive me to an early grave, and my wife has one right now that is VERY difficult, as she has to but up with a lot of problems both with the general public, but also with some doctors that she works for. Through all this we have always held onto one constant, and that is that no matter how hard things may get, no matter how difficult the circumstances, there is always hope. I won't get theological on this forum, but I will say that you are not alone - and you are in my thoughts and prayers.
