Walt Disney Records Goes Ape with "Jungle Book 2: Songs from the Film and Other Jungle Favorites''

Soundtrack Features "I Wan'na Be Like You (The Monkey Song)" Performed by Multi-Platinum Pop Act Smash Mouth

Walt Disney Records has announced a February 4th release date for "Jungle Book 2: Songs from the Film and Other Jungle Favorites," the companion soundtrack to the highly anticipated Disney animated feature. The sequel to the 1967 animated classic "The Jungle Book," "Jungle Book 2" opens in theatres nationwide on February 14th.

Grammy®-nominated, multi-platinum pop act Smash Mouth lead the musical charge on this soundtrack safari with a rousing rendition of "I Wan'na Be Like You (The Monkey Song)," followed by a reprise of the show-stopping hit "The Bare Necessities" sung by John Goodman (Baloo) and Haley Joel Osment (Mowgli). More fun than a barrel full of monkeys, "Jungle Book 2" also includes the big and bouncy "W-I-L-D" (performed by Goodman), the beat-happy "Jungle Rhythm" (featuring Osment), "I've Got You Beat," "Right Where I Belong," "Colonel Hathi's March (The Elephant Song)," "Braver" and four favorites from Walt Disney Records' "Wild Safari Sing-Along": "Queen of the Jungle," "He's a Lucky, Lucky Snake," "The Elephant's Face" and "Never Smile at a Crocodile."

The complete track listing for the soundtrack is as follows:
  • 1. I Wan'na Be Like You (The Monkey Song) featuring Smash Mouth (from Disney's "The Jungle Book 2")
  • 2. Jungle Rhythm (from Disney's "The Jungle Book 2")
  • 3. W-I-L-D (from Disney's "The Jungle Book 2")
  • 4. The Bare Necessities (from Disney's "The Jungle Book 2")
  • 5. I've Got You Beat (Inspired by Disney's "The Jungle Book 2")
  • 6. Right Where I Belong (from Disney's "The Jungle Book 2")
  • 7. Colonel Hathi's March (The Elephant Song) (from Walt Disney's "The Jungle Book")
  • 8. Braver (Inspired by Disney's "The Jungle Book 2")
  • 9. Queen of the Jungle (from Walt Disney Records' "Wild Safari Sing-Along")
  • 10. He's a Lucky, Lucky Snake (from Walt Disney Records' "Wild Safari Sing-Along")
  • 11. The Elephant's Face (from Walt Disney Records' "Wild Safari Sing-Along")
  • 12. Never Smile at a Crocodile (from Walt Disney Records' "Wild Safari Sing-Along")

In addition to the soundtrack, on February 4th Walt Disney Records also will release the Jungle Book 2 CD Read-Along which includes a 24-page color book.

Disney's "The Jungle Book 2" movie adds an all-new animated chapter to one of the best-loved animated classics of all time. Mowgli now lives in the man village, and he loves his new family and friends, especially his feisty little step-brother Ranjan and his best pal Shanti, the girl who initially wooed Mowgli from the jungle. But Mowgli misses his buddy Baloo, who likewise pines for his little man-cub. Baloo isn't the only one hoping to see Mowgli again soon: Shere Khan impatiently awaits his revenge. When Mowgli sneaks away to the jungle, the chase is on to see who will find Mowgli first -- his old pals, his new family, or the man-eating tiger. It's an adventure packed with thrills, songs and fun for the whole family.
