Michael Jackson's career crosses over into Disney fanship as well as the film "Captain EO" which used to show at Disney theme parks.  Who knew then what would transpire in future years (regarding allegations made against Jackson)?  I hope and pray for true justice to be done and comfort for the victims and families as all this plays out.  What a shame.  What a waste of talent and former public goodwill.  What a tragedy all around this is.  And no doubt will be a long running media spectacle, too.

Carol, I feel the same way... and judging from the news today.... spectacle is putting it mildly!

Thanks for the response.  As for Jackson, IMHO/YMMV, I heard a commentator on the radio today comment "You know...what if he (Jackson) is innocent?  It would be like the Richard Jewel incident (the suspect originally charged with setting off an explosive during the Atlanta Summer Olympic Games amid crowds of people aa few years ago, was charged and put through a lot, later found out he definitely didn't do it). "  This is not condoning or excusing or defending any allegations against or on behalf of Michael Jackson.  But the media circus is on a rush to judgement, just like with these Kobe Bryant and Scott Peterson cases, and the facts just are not out there for anyone to know for sure what happened and the rumor mill is notoriously unreliable.  All this has to play out.  But it's sickening to see Michael Jackson now, how there is such a rush to knock the man over, as well as the results of the facial surgery he's had not looking too good in the police mug shot.  I also feel for these victims bringing the allegations.  If true, the law and justice system simply must do what they must do to protect the public and children.  Scales of justice are supposed to be balanced for everyone, everyone treated the same, including the celebrities who, if charges prove true, need to pay their debt to society.

"Captain EO" was so much fun, so was the music and dancing from "Thriller" and "Bad".  Michael Jackson's early hits from the Motown childhood days through "Bad" were memorable, fun.  I hope no matter what happens people can still look on that music and how the man held himself out to the public as the greatness it was at the time and dwell on that for awhile.  In hindsight, we'll never know if the public persona we knew between the childhood Motown days on to "Bad" was who Michael Jackson really was, or what personal demons he fought.  Talent and the positive aspects of it and the fame of show business are so fleeting, anyway.  At least we had good times.

One of Michael's Jackson's albums has a terrific inspirational song on it called "Man in the Mirror".  Lyrics go "I'm looking at the man in the mirror, I'm asking him to change his ways, and no message could be any clearer, if you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself, and make that change."   I hope Michael Jackson can take the advice from his own hit song.  If all this proves true, getting caught could save and turn around his life, in a way, though his life after this can't go back to his days of excess, he'll be ruined as all of us may view and judge his life.  But a good judge and a fair jury will determine all that.

The details coming out are definitely sickening, though.

I agree, Carol. The whole thing is sickening all the way around.

Another shame now-a-days is that you are now guilty until proven innocent.

A big part of the reason for the media circus isn't just that he's such a celebrity. It's also because the crime he's being charged with is considered to be the worst type of crime out there. Celebrities can all overcome drinking, drugs, bashing cars, battering spouses, but slap them with this sort of thing and it sticks.

As I told Carol I'm trying very hard to not be judgemental. I confess it's hard right now because it looks so much like he's guilty if I were to listen to the press but I also know that everyone's innocent until proven guilty and that's the law. I also know the press is in fierce competition over this story and that it affects reporting.

I'm being polite when I say the following. I don't think Michael Jackon used good judgement at all in his actions much less admitting to what he has on television. I don't understand how he can think people would understand all that or why he would see it acceptable and not suspicious. Oh well we'll just have to watch this play out I guess.

Sometimes I wish I was God and could see the truth for myself so I could know without a shadow of a doubt.

It's all so awful

I will try to be very tactful when I say that what he says and does is to say the least, very troublesome. (Much less the abuse that is being placed upon my favorite Disney character   ). Regrettably, Mr. Jackson has some very troubling personal issues that have gotten to be dealt with very soon, and I feel that some form of therapy would be very good for him. I believe that he has lost some sense of what is in the "real world", and as a result, his judgement is being clouded. Whether or not this is leading to the extent of him being capable of performing the allegations placed before him remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure - he needs some help, or he is destined for some form of personal tragedy. :(

One of Michael's Jackson's albums has a terrific inspirational song on it called "Man in the Mirror".  Lyrics go "I'm looking at the man in the mirror, I'm asking him to change his ways, and no message could be any clearer, if you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself, and make that change."

This song was written by a Christian artist named Wes King.... I can only hope that Mr. Jackson really paid attention to the words....  (as we all should)

However.... the child's therapist is the one who blew the whistle... he is required by law.... so something had to have come out in those sessions.  Most Child molesters are normal everyday people... they go to churches and have families besides their secret life... I was molested by one of my older cousins husbands for more than 13 years of my life... I was a very small child, (I am only 4'9" now...) and I was afraid of this man... so I kept my mouth shut.... about 12 years ago, I had to face what he had done to me.  It had never left my mind, I just kept refusing to deal with it.  When his wife died a year and a half ago... I found out he had doine things to my older sister and cousins and a very dear friend of mine.  I filed a complaint, he was arrested... (his 76 year old butt spent two weeks in jail), but he finally pled guilty and was given probabtion.  They had to try him on the standards and l;aws from late 1950's to 1960's.... Children weren't worth much then,.....
Anyway, for this child's sake (and the sake of MJ's kids) if it is true, I hope they really nail him to the wall.... he paid the other kid off... (and how many others we never heard about that may have settled instead of just turning him in,,,)
His family defending him is natural.... (my own cousins and sister told what this man did to them, and they weren't believed...my mother and grandmother depended on him to help them, and they wouldn't believe he could do anything bad...)  I know one thing, he sure moved from church to church...... makes you wonder huh?
