Ok I have never been to WDW in November. I am looking at November 13-18 for a quick trip and I need some info on what weather is like and anything special going on. From what I know (or think I do) the Epcot Wine and Food festival is still going on and I know at Disneyland the Christmas stuff goes up the first or second week of November. Is this the same thing at WDW?

I love to wear shorts. Can I still in November? I have been to Florida for the Superbowl a few times and it was warm then.

Any help would be great.

Aloha

Steve

Yoo Hoo, Steve!

I've moved this topic out of the Polynesian Resort message forum into the Walt Disney World forum where more people will see it to answer your WDW questions.

I think you'll still be able to wear shorts at that time of November and you might see Christmas decorations going up that early, but I think most of the decorating starts around Thanksgiving. Crowds should be light because most kids will still be in school.

And you're right: the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival will still be going on during part of your vacation at WDW, Steve. It begins October 18th and lasts through November 16th.

So, have you decided to take this trip for sure now?

We usually go to WDW the first week in Nov. -Jersey week. This year 2-8.
You can wear shorts during the day. At night and early morning you may want to have a sweatshirt handy. The kids going swimming, this year Typhoon Lagoon  - don't forget the pools are heated.

Christmas decorations are not up yet; but, when we went to DL in Nov 2001 the decorations were up and it "snowed" during the parade.

You'll be missing the crowds and I'm sure will have a great time. :happydance:

So the decorations are not up yet? Yeah when we were in DL in 2000 they had them up by the 6 of November and that was the year they first did the snow. Infact the night we saw the fireworks and snow was they first night they tried it out.

I went to WDW for Veteran's Day in 1998.  It was HOT! It was also NJ week but only crowded on the weekend.  Christmas decorations were not up.  Food & Wine Fest was great!

We'll be at the Poly Nov 8-14 and are expecting the temps to get into the 70's.  Our suitcases will be full because we have to pack for warm and cold weather.  Having been there in Oct and Dec before, I know that it can be chilly in the early morning and evenings.

I'm not expecting decorations to be up yet.  However, I think it will be a great time of year to go.

Thanks everyone for their help. It looks like maybe a new big screen TV is going to replace the trip in November. I guess I will just have to wait till later to return to the Polynesian.

Aloha

Steve
