We have a smaller Class B (van camper) motorhome and have thought about driving it to the parks.  In May we left it hooked up the entire stay at FtW.  We would head to the parks early each morning (usually got there shortly after the gates opened) and then when we got tired and hot in the middle of the day we would head back to the campsite to rest. Then we would either return or hop somewhere else.

Our idea for December is that if we spend an entire day at a park like Animal Kingdom, we could get there at opening and get a fairly close parking spot, tour most of the morning and then when it gets crowded and hot in the middle of the day we could escape to our RV to eat lunch and rest.  Later on we could go back in and tour a bit more and watch the parade.  This way we avoid giving up our good parking spot and having to drive back to FtW only to return later.

Anybody commute to WDW attractions in your motorhome?

Hi rocklandrvers,

We camp in a pop-up so I can't answer your question directly; however, I can tell you that I've seen many RVs in the theme park parking lots over the years.  The standard operating procedure for the parking lot Cast Members is to direct RVs to the ends of the parking lot rows where they can occupy two parking spaces and get out of the car parking flow/chaos.

Hope this helps!

On departure day we sometimes vist a park,  with the trailer in tow we are told to park at the end of the row,  which is sometimes not very close to the park entrance,  having a class B you might be able to park in a regular parking spot,  i like your idea and having the camper so close makes it very convienent to rest mid day and not lose alot of time to transportation,  if you have a genset it will be that much more comfortable in the rv.
