Hi everyone!  I am trying to plan a trip and am in the process of deciding on a resort.  We would like to be central to Disney World and Universal Orlando but would like to have a least a free shuttle to one of the locations in order to minimize costs.  Any ideas???  You helped immensely with the planning of my last WDW trip in October.....Thanks!! I am an Orlando beginner..

The problem with your question is that none of the hotels between Walt Disney World and Universal offer free shuttles to either location. :( If you want free transportation to one of the two resorts, you have to stay at one of the resorts.

My honest advice is to decide which resort you'll be spending the most time at and stay there (with free transportation). To get to the other resort, you can get a Mears shuttle (information and schedule widely available at the hotels, or online at Mears Transportation) or rent a car for a few days.

My second alternative is to split your stay between the two resorts. Stay at a Universal resort while you visit there, then move to a WDW resort for the rest of your trip. The cost of cab fare from one to the other will be lower than going back and forth even once. :dollar:

Hope that helps, even if it isn't what you wanted to hear.

Darn, you're right! I didn't want to hear that.  After our last trip, I swore I would never switch hotels on a vacation again!  I hate to pack!! Oh well, I guess I'll pick on or the other and leave it at that! As always, Thanks for the advice!
