Yoo Hoo, Disney EchoEars!
I've heard that Disney is getting a lot of Guests complaining about Mears. Service has been so slow sometimes that there have been waits at the Orlando airport of two to four hours until a Mears shuttle takes the Guests to WDW.
What are your experiences with Mears lately, Disney EchoEars?

I never ever had a problem with Mears and I always go in the summer time too! We always get on .....Usually only a 15 min wait.....

On our last trip, we were nervous when Mears was about 30 minutes late picking us up from the hotel for the return trip to the airport. What made it even worse was that there were more guests to pick up at other hotels after Mears finally showed up. We ended up leaving Disney property about an hour later than we anticipated. The other guests in the van were pretty nervous, too.
I have also noticed longer waits to get from the airport to Disney. To me, their service is not as reliable as it used to be.

I have never used them but when I called to ask how long the wait would be they told me it would be about 15-30 mins or more. They also told me it would take atleast an hour to get from the airport to the WDW resort. I decided to go with a town car (Your ride) service, instead.

I also think that's far too long to wait when "time is money" on your Disney vacation. As I wrote in my recommendation for < Quicksilver Tours & Transportation >, it only took me 30 minutes to get from the airport to the Polynesian Resort on my October trip.
Besides, < Quicksilver > as well as < Cartier Towncar > are two fine sponsors of the Disney Echo -- so that's another reason to use one of them!

Also a town car will cost about $90 roundtrip. For a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) that is only 22.50 per person! Versus $84 on Mears. The difference is only $6. I think my time is worth $6 don't you.
Did I mention that most town car services give you a *free* 30 min grocery stop?

Good points, Xavier!
Also, < Quicksilver > gives you a free 10 minute long distance phone call or a 5 minute international call for free. Oh! They also give you a free Polaroid ("instant") picture of yourself!

It has been 2 years since I had the misfortune of relying on Mears Transportation from MCO and it was about 75mins wait and then when we finally left our part of the airport we did a little tour and stopped at Domestic arrivals and waited there another 20 minutes!!! By this time I was we'd just had a 70 minute flight from Edinburgh to London then hang around Gatwick for 2 hours then a 9 hour flight (plus a 5 hour time difference) which meant I was in a totally reasonable mood... for someone who'd be up for 20 hours!!!!!!
Last year the in laws came with us so they droppped us off at our hotel no prblems
This year we've got Gregory (Quicksilver) meeting us and I know that we will be more than happy with this service....so much so I have recommended him to all of my "non driving" clients and am booking him again for Oct '04 !! Woohoo!!!
