Gosh guys!!  You need to click on the Donald pic to download the document.  Have no fear, Mickey and the gang are here

I guess when they posted this on the DisneyDollarless, they only put up part of the picture.

Thanks I don't click anything that says to download unless I know I want it. Sorry.

Good morning all!

 I had a clever idea.....we should compile all of our "homemade" stuff and sell it as a "Disney Trip Planning Kit".

Sounds good 'eh?  I can always dream :)

Sounds like you're the entrepreneur among us, Beth!  Go for it!

I made up the Cast Member Appreciation Cards, Maggie.  They turned out great.  I used Publisher, so I could go in and put our name (The Welch-Troxel Family) on the line in a nice script font.  I had some of those great business cards that are "clean edge"--you can't even tell you separated them.  Very nice.  Thanks again for the tip and the graphic!

Now, tell me some great reasons to give them out.  I know there are a lot of nice CMs, but what would you consider "award-worthy" behavior.  (Hmmm...Is this getting off topic?)

Maybe Rich will switch this to another thread....(hint, hint)

You bring up a great question -- and I agree that it should be discussed in a different section of the Disney Echo. At my request, Becky posted that question again in the Cast Member Clubhouse area of the Disney Echo where replies to that question can be made.

You can go to that question's thread by clicking here and you can continue with the original topic of making and modifying these homemade projects right here.

I'm so glad you're enjoying my ideas! I don't give out the *certificates* very freely myself, but I am *disabled* due to 3 back surgeries, and when a CM goes out of her way to help me find a spot for the parades or get onto a ride (I have been known to be *ignored*), or help me look for a pin or other merchandise (not something that's in plain sight), then I feel he/she deserves a little something *extra* for their trouble. I've also been known to add one in a Mousekeeping envelope when something extra nice has been done in our room, like a *Welcome Home* card, *Anniversary or Birthday* card, towel animals, aaaand, our room is especially kept clean! I also do some charity work for the Give Kids The World Village (connected to Make A Wish), so whenever we go, I ask Mousekeeping for some extra soaps and shampoos for the kids. I've been lucky...they usually give me a bag full! So naturally, that person gets one, too! One night when we went to 'Ohana's for dinner they lost our P.S., but a wonderful CM made sure we got in in less than 10 minutes instead of having to wait 2 hours! Needless to say...she received a certificate! Another time I observed a CM helping a child trying to decide which pin to trade. The poor little thing had no idea what to do and his parents were new to pin trading. The CM not only traded a lovely pin, but gave the little boy an extra one! Last month I left a birthday package for a little girl who was turning 5 the next day. Not only did the CM see to it that it was delivered, but added 5 balloons! She got one, too! :minnie:

Two things, Beth. First, I finally decided to do something quite similar on my site.  Although I do understand that some people get ticked off at sellers on Ebay who sell the park maps, I'm doing something else like it. I'm selling not only the park maps, but brochures from other Orlando attractions like Busch Gardens, SeaWorld, Arabian Nights, China, Pirates and Capone's, Kennedy Space Center, etc., as well as a Travel Activities Book for $10. The activities book is made from card stock, has a plastic binder with a clear plastic front and cardboard back. This works well for kids as it gives them something a little hard to lean on. The book contains losts of coloring pages, mazes, games, and car bingo! You could  make this on your computer, too. It is great for keeping kids busy and the package is a big help to people who like to plan ahead as they all have maps and telephone numbers, and some have coupons. I'm also planning on adding a coupon booklet for the Orlando area....I just have to drive to a service plaza on the turnpike! There's one about 30 minutes from me. So, obviously, I have access to things a lot of people don't and would like to have. The $10 barely covers the cost of mailing envelope, postage and my gas! LOL!
The second thing is this.... I like to realllllly decorate for Christmas and our house is basically *Disney*, so the foyer is dedicated to .....Disney! We have 3 small trees there with a 3 footer that has a Minnie tree topper. Here are my suggestions...1. use pins to decorate the small trees, and 2. if you've ever seen the headbands with the glitter Mickeyheads on them, they can also be used as ornaments, too! They work well for both the small trees and the big one,  and are relatively inexpensive. They cost $6 and have 2 Mickeyheads on them. What I did was take them off the wire, add a bow on the bottom and glue a ribbon on the top between the ears with a glue gun...viola! Mickeyhead ornaments!
Oh! And for those that have done their bathrooms in Tropical Mickey, but don't want to spend $25 for the wastebasket(I can be cheap)...make your own! I paintd blue Mickeyheads on a white wastebasket and it looks great! I even added some flowers, too!
Sorry this is so long, guys.... :minnie:

I also made autograph books for my grandchildren.  I got my books from JoAnn's.  I used Print Shop and made my background and made stickers for the pages.  It turned out really cute.

I have already made envelopes for mousekeeping, a countdown calender, and I think I will make some of the CM certificates.  I think I might make the countdown chain too when our trip gets closer.  We are not going until December.

Looks like you're off to a good start! I wish I had grandchildren! Someday.....Planning is soooo much fun! But, in any case December is a fabulous time to go! Unfortunately, the Osborn Lights won't be up this year, but, don't miss the parades, especially in the MK, and the Candlelight Procession in Epcot is awesome! That is definitely a *must-do*! If you have time, go to all the monorail resorts and see how they're decorated. The GF has a 50-foot tree, and a huuge gingerbread house that doubles as a candy store, too! Plus, there are storytellers in each country in Epcot. If you're there for Christmas Day, you'll even find a surprise on your doorknob on Christmas morning! You might also want to bring a small tree and some lights for your room! :minnie:

That all sounds fun, but we are going to DL instead of WDW.  DL is a little closer to Alaska.  I am hoping some day I can take the grandkids to WDW.

Yoo Hoo, rickiedestinymama!

...or maybe that should be Ho Ho Ho, rickiedestinymama!
;)

That's okay! As you probably know, Disneyland has a version of the Candlelight Procession which is held in the Fantasyland theater near its a small world.

And while there are no Osborn lights, you have the charm of New Orleans Square decorated for the holidays and it looks even truer to New Orleans than WDW's Port Orleans Resort does.

And you'll also get to see Disneyland's Christmas parade.
:santa:
