Couldn't figure out where the best place to post this would be, so Rich, if you think another forum would be better, feel free to move it.

I saw a cute idea over at DisneyDollarless on how to make your own homemade autograph books.  Since I'm antsy to get going on my trip and trying to find things to pass the time, it looked like a good Disney-type activity for whiling away the hours (okay it only took a few minutes, probably, but you know....minutes can SEEM like hours when you're waiting for your Fairy Tale WDW vacation).

The craft project called for a spiral bound scrapbook from Michael's that's just the perfect size for an autograph book, about 4.75" x 5.5", some Disney greeting cards with  favorite characters, and some Modpodge.  Easy enough.  Michael's is right by Walmart, so ta-da--one trip and I was set!

I only made two autograph books because my soon-to-be 14-yr-old son was not interested, but you can see them both here at Webshots .  They were really fun to make using the tips from DisneyDollarless and my previous decoupaging knowledge.  I put some Disney character stickers on each page to frame the soon-to-be-entered autographs and hope to have a picture of each character on the opposite page with the kid who got the autograph.

Just thought you might like to see them!

Maybe I'll even try taking a picture of my "Mahalo" envelopes for Polynesian mousekeepers!

Okay, I added a picture of the mousekeeping envelopes I made, too.  Same link as above.

Yoo Hoo, Becky!

All three of those look great, and I bet the Disney Characters really appreciate the homemade autograph book - - as well as the mousekeepers liking not only what you put in the envelopes you leave for them, but the envelopes themselves.
:)

Oh! And I think you picked a great spot on the Disney Echo to put your tip about making these, Becky.

Thanks, Rich!

I happen to be a GREAT tipper, too--all ya'll would want me for a customer!  Both DH and I paid our dues in the service industry (he was a waiter/bartender and I worked as a housekeeper at Crater Lake Lodge), so we love to tip for good service.  Well, we tip anyway, but if it's exceptional, watch out! (Okay, if it's really lousy--and I've only had really, really lousy service once--I won't tip.)  I'll never forget the $100 tip he got once!  That was a fun night!

Has anyone seen that insurance ad that features the guests trying to get the service from the server by bidding up their tip?  Cracks me up!  What's that for? Progressive, I think.  And the table that offered a 30% tip and to bus their own tables won.  (I won't be offering to wash the sheets at the Poly! )

So glad you liked my crafties!  I just used Word to make the envelopes, found the clipart on the disks that came with Microsoft Works (did a search on Polynesia, I think to find that picture).  Used WordArt to make the Mahalo.

I really had a great time working on those craft projects, so I hope you have fun with yours, too! I made envelopes for my older kids' daily allowance of cash that they are earning all summer before we go, too.  I made them for DH, too! LOL!

Hey Becky!

Did you happen to see my "Disney Countdown Chain" now up on the DisneyDollarless?

http://www.disneydollarless.com/chainlink.shtml

My son had a blast with this!

Your autograph books look great!  Same with the tip envelops!

Gosh guys!!  You need to click on the Donald pic to download the document.  Have no fear, Mickey and the gang are here

I guess when they posted this on the DisneyDollarless, they only put up part of the picture.
