This is a must do if you're at WDW during the holidays.  We went for the first time Dec. 2001 and loved it.  The only thing I wouldn't do is to go the first night it is held - very crowded.

I hope to be there again Dec. 2005.

Well everyone, I actually DID convince DH (aka Grumpy) to go to WDW again before the end of the year.  Suprisingly, it didn't take all that much convincing.

We are flying into Sanford Dec. 12th and won't be at our resort (WL) until around 10:00 pm.

I've made PS's for Chef Mickey's for breakfast on Saturday (never ate breakfast there).  I made PS's for the Pirate cruise on the 17th and I've got my tickets for MVMCP for Sunday the 14th.

The exitement is starting to sink in :)

Has anyone been to MVMCP?  What did they do?  Did you like it?

Yoo Hoo, Beth!

Congratulations on your upcoming trip! You're going to love Chef Mickey's for breakfast.  :mickey:

I hope your son/daughter likes the pirate cruise, too! See if they'll promise to tell you all about it when they're done so you can write a trip report about it. Here's a tip: Get them a disposable camera just for the pirate cruise and encourage them to take pictures during it. That way you and your DH will have a way to see a bit of what it was like. Plus, being a disposable camera, if it accidentally gets dropped overboard it isn't as big of a loss as a regular camera.
:o

Our whole family has loved Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade the times we've done it. I bet all of you will, too. I need to post pictures of the party here, and I promise to get to it!

The special Christmas parade is great, the fireworks are wonderful, the "snow" on Main Street U.S.A. is a treat, as well as the cookies and hot chocolate that are provided for free. Get your complimentary photograph first thing, right after you enter the park for the party... And out-of-the way place for this that doesn't have a lot of lines at the beginning of the night is at the entrance to Pirates of the Caribbean.

Have fun and enjoy all the decorations!  :santa:

Thanks for the info.  I had read up on MVMCP on Deb Wills site but wanted some first hand reports.

So if you have the picture taken at the entrance to PoC - what's in the background?  Do they mail you the picture?  I only ask because we got a complimentary picture taken on Mother's day at Epcot in 2000.  They mailed us the picture.

What rides are open during the event?  Is it the same rides that they have open on E-Ride night?

I had intened to purchase a disposable camera for my son to take on the Pirate Cruise this trip.  He went this past May and loved it - but I didn't want to add the stress of asking him to take pics.  This time, since he's already "been there, done that" then I'll toss in the camera.

It is a plastic background (flat) with a logo repeated of the event. You can also get your picture taken with snow all around in the sleigh off of Main Street U.S.A., but I don't think that location is one of the "complimentary" ones. (Might be wrong about that, though).

They will mail you the picture, yes.

I think the same rides open for E-Ticket Nights are the ones open for MVMCP, but I don't recall specifically which ones. It is not the entire park that is open, however. I remember the train is one of the attractions not open.

Yoo Hoo, Disney EchoEars!

My thanks go out to ladymarganne for submitting the following pictures taken at Christmas time! This is similar to the Christmas parade that is run at nighttime during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade (but you can see more details in these daytime photos).

Another question:  Do they still have Spectromagic on the nights that they don't have the Christmas party?  I can't imagine not seeing Spectro when we're there...

SpectroMagic is run on "select nights" - - Disneyspeak for you better check the Magic Kingdom park events schedule at < disneyworld.com > to make sure. There's no predicting for sure about when it will and won't run.

Those pictures are spectacular. I can just stare at them for hours, they're gorgeous! They've got me all hyped up for my own Christmas plans even more than I already was

I've never been able to go to the MVMCP yet. I never had the extra pocket cash before. I'm considering next year though.

I noticed something, in the 18th picture down with Woody in it there's someone in a Santa outfit on what looks like a movie crane. It can't be Santa, he's in the back of the line in another picture. Is it Mickey in a Santa outfit? I can't tell, any guesses?

LOL I don't know who's going to be more excited, me or my son LOL

We were there over Christmas in 2001, but during that week, they didn't have the MVMCP.  We also never caught the daytime parade

You're right, I think it is Goofy. It's easier to tell in that closeup. If that isn't one of his long ears I see then I'll eat my DVDs. :D

As long as you don't Goof up and eat your BVDs...

Beth,

You will love the MVMCP!! I was looking thru all of park brochures I saved from our Dec. 2001 trip.  Unfortunately, it looks as though the Spectromagic parade was only held on Sat. nights while we were there. We never got to see it as we already had Ps's scheduled that I couldn't change  :unhappy:

I'm going to miss not being there this Dec., but I'm looking forward to our Oct. trip in a few weeks.  First of all, it's only 3 1/2 weeks away  :happydance:  and secondly, I've never experienced this time of year at WDW- I'm hoping MNSSHP is a blast.

Dec. 2005 was going to be our next trip so we could be back for the holidays- it's just so beautiful.  I can't believe that DH is thinking Dec.2004 instead (I'm not going to argue)  I hope that the Osborne lights are back by then, we missed those last visit also  :unhappy:

Best wishes for your upcoming trip! :pixiedust: As much as I'm looking forward to being there in a few weeks - Christmas time at the World will always have a special place in my dreams :hearts:  :santa:

Thanks WhatsaPooh.

Yes, when we were there during Christmas week, Spectro was on Saturday's.  We happened to walk into the MK just as it was about the begin.  Perfect timing.

You are so lucky to be going for MNSSHP!!  I've always wanted to go in October!  I was trying to convince DH to go a little earlier, but it worked out better for us to go in Dec.

Although we had a wonderful time begin at the World over Christmas, I'm not sure that I'd actually go during the actual holiday again.  It was beautiful, and Santa (and Micky, Minnie, Chip & Dale) was in the lobby Christmas Eve for the children (and the adults :) ).  But, it was a little hectic for us.  My DS4's b-day is on Christmas - so yes, double the presents  :punched:

I'm looking forward to not having to stress about presents, gifts and Santa trying to find us at the WL :)

My Ds6's bday is 12/27- I can understand about double presents, but I at least have a day in between  :D  We went the first week in Dec. last time and will probably do so again. I don't think I'd want to be there during the week of Christmas though.  I also will try to avoid being there with the Pop Warner again  :o  the evening busses back to CBR were overflowing with over energetic teenage girls.

Hey Everybody! :)

I have been to MVMCP and its a great time.  My favorite thing to do is to go to one of the many places where you can get cookies and hot chocolate....then go find a relaxing place in front of the changing colors of the castle :)   I am going  this year on Dec. 14 and cant wait :)

I do have a bit of advice though :) .... DONT EAT THE SNOW when you are walking down Main St. :)

I debated on whether or not to post why you wouldnt want to eat the snow but decided not to :) if you are just dying to know  PM me and I'll share with you the magic of making Disney snow :) hehehehe
