Goofy and Donald Duck Return to Disney Dollars for 2003

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Goofy and Donald Duck are mugging again on Disney Dollars -- currency that can be used on par with U.S. dollars at most Walt Disney World locations.

The 2003 series of Disney Dollars now available features Goofy on the $5 denomination and Donald on the $10 bill. They were last on the bills during Disney’s Millennium Celebration.

Mickey Mouse is on the new $1 Disney Dollar.

The new Disney Dollars replace a series created for the 100 Years of Magic celebration, which featured Mickey as Steamboat Willie, plus Snow White and Tinker Bell.

The backs of the 2003 series are all about Disney theme park castles: Sleeping Beauty Castle from Disneyland Resort ($1), Cinderella Castle from Walt Disney World Resort ($5), and Le Chateau de la Belle au Bois Dormant from Disneyland Paris ($10).

When the individually serialized Disney Dollars debuted in May 1987, Mickey Mouse appeared on the $1 bill and Goofy on the $5 bill. A $10 bill featuring Minnie Mouse was added in November 1989.

Disney Dollars are available at Walt Disney World Guest Services and Guest Relations locations.
