:sorcerer: Hi, I just posted an intro on the main page! My name is Sharon and we are planning a trip in April 2004 to do the whole Disney experience! It will actually be 2 weeks in Florida since we are visiting relatives first for Easter but then staying on site when the rates drop. We have always wanted to stay at the Poly...guess the wonderful breakfast we had with the kids this past year cemented that, LOL, it was WONDERFUL!  But, now we are looking for tips/tricks to make the most of our vacation. We have 3 kids (ages 2,5 &7) and are looking for suggestions on room requests (would love a nice lagoon view of the castle for our own lil Cinderella, Goofy & Mickey) and see if those who have stayed there before with larger families found it "roomier" than other Disney resorts. We stayed at the Port Orleans a couple years ago and it was OK but snug for a family of 5 now. And, we are excited that our trip to WDW is just a hop on the monorail. We had a bad experience with riding the transpotation bus in the past with small children....I could have walked back to our resort faster & had to hold a sleeping baby w/ a stroller folded up and sticking me in my ribs!! So, we are glad we will have our car on the premisies this time around.  Also, for those that go often....I know you're out there...is the week following Easter a good time to go?? We did not experience the crowds too much (the 2 days we went this year) and do know about the early park closings and will plan around that...but now that we will be there a whole week doing everything...is this the best time to go?

Thanks! And, I'll keep on reading trying to learn more about the Poly and the Disney experience.  Looking forward to meeting you all!

Hi Sharon,

Congrats on your upcoming trip.  My family and I just returned from a week at the Poly.  Feel free to read my trip reports that I have posted here in th Poly section.  In short, we all had a great time, and my kids are already asking when we can go back again!  As far as your question of "room size" goes.  We were a family of four and found the room quite large enough.  I'd think with your family of five it should be more than roomy enough.  I've read reviews of 4 adults and one child staying in the same room at the Poly and it being plenty roomy for them as well.

As far as room recommendations for the Poly, Steve "Tikiman's" website is a must read for any Poly planning.  If you haven't been there yet check out:

Feel free to ask me any questions and good luck with your planning !!

Greg
