I was told by a Disney CM today that the 2004 room rates, packages, seasons etc should be official by June 16. AAA rates should come out around the same time. Rumor has it Central Reservations will book room only and Disney Travel Co will book packages. So, if you are considering a vacation for next year, you can find out when the lowest priced times will be on Mousesavers soon.

Happy planning!

Sue

I have already booked a Pop Century room in Jan 2004 for a client.  So rates are available for travel agents and soon for the general public.

Yoo Hoo, Tina!

Hooray! I'm looking forward to hearing what people think of the Pop Century Resort when it opens December 14, 2003.

Hi

Disney is currently in the process of downloading the 2004 room rates into their reservation system. I was told that the prices for some deluxe resorts are in their computers now.... (Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Beach and Yacht and Contemporary.) They may not be bookable at the 2004 prices yet.

If you book a room for next year now, you will be asked for a one night's room deposit at the 2003 regular rseason rate plus tax. When Disney officially establishes their 2004 rates in a week or so, your nightly room rate will be adjusted to the new rate.

Happy Planning!

I'm wondering if WDW will be adding special character events or character dining at the Pop Century resort. Anybody hear anything? Heck, any excuse to get Goofy into the leisure suit he sported in An Extremely Goofy Movie would work fine with me! :D

Yoo Hoo, Chris!

You "do the math..."

1. Pop Century resort is a value resort like the All-Star resorts.

2. There are no special Character events at the All-Star resorts.

3. There isn't even any table-service dining at the All-Star resorts, much less Character dining.

4. The "Character Caravan" bus filled with Disney Characters stopped coming by the Disney Resorts when Extra Magic Morning began (used to be known as Early Entry).

I add that up and get "0" -- but who knows, there might be Disney Characters on hand for the opening ceremonies in December.

But I can't leave this post without something more hopeful, as well as a picture that might bring a smile to you:

I'm sure there'll be plenty of Character Plush and other merchandise in the Pop Century gift shop!
:)

WOW! That toy in that picture was irresistable! Is that available anywhere? WDW? Anywhere? I want it! :mickey:  :mickey:  :mickey:

I love the picture, thanks!

I wonder if that's a beanbag plush or an actual-sized one.

He's called "Disco Goofy" and I found the picture of him here:

http://www.creationscelebrations.com/new_release_picture_page.htm

You could try contacting them as a start - - I don't know if he's available but the folks at that website might know.
