Disney intended his park to be enjoyed by all age groups.  However, having just returned from the Lilo and Stitch poll, it seems we adults have lost another dinner show to the kids.  Evidently, shows that adults  would most appreciate do not earn enough cash.  Is the generation gap at WDW becoming wider?
:oh:

Yoo Hoo, kirby428!

The "Spirit of Aloha" show has not been lost to the kids. It does not currently have any Disney Characters in it at all. No matter what the outcome of our unofficial Mouseke-Poll turns out to be (and yes, it is currently highly in favor of adding the Lilo & Stitch characters to the show) it will not have any effect on The Walt Disney Co. because all of us here are just fans and do not represent the Company in any way; we're totally unofficial.

Now, the previous luau show at the Polynesian used to have Disney Characters in the early show and only Polynesian dancers in the later show. So you really wouldn't be losing a dinner show to the kids even if Disney did decide on their own to add the Lilo & Stitch characters to the early "Spirit of Aloha" show (even changing its name to reflect that) and leave the later luau as it is.

Besides, the Disney philosophy you state ("Disney intended his park to be enjoyed by all age groups.") IMHO would apply in this case that Walt would be in favor of having a more family-oriented show earlier in the evening and wouldn't mind the option of an older-skewing show later in the evening. Do you really want to eat around 5 pm anyway?
:)

Yes, 5PM is often a good time to eat if one wakes up the roosters  :D  or is in a hurry to return to the park for after dark touring.   I like the idea of a dual format for the Luau.  I am not anti-kids, but for we "empty-nester" who have seen our little birdies fly, it is nice to have the option to dodge the character meals for a change.

Although I've never been to the luau show myself, I think having two options -- one with characters; one without characters -- sounds like a great idea.  Everyone would then have the opportunity to pick whichever show they prefer.

My problem is that I rarely eat dinner while at WDW.  DH and I prefer to have our main meal at breakfast or lunch, so we can walk it off during the day (not that you'd notice we've done that).
