Yes - absolutely!

It certainly would appeal to the families and kids would enjoy the show so much more.

My grandkids love Lilo and Stitch!

I also would love to see them at an early show. My 9 y/0 dd isn't really excited about doing the Luau but I know if Lilo and Stitch were there it would be different. So, maybe add them to the early show and leave the later show for adults that don't want characters.

As a 40 year old with no kids, it really surprised me that I could SOOO fall in love with a movie like I did with Lilo and Stitch.  I've watched it about 15 times so far, and I still tear up everytime Lilo comes back to pick up Scrump after she pitched her.  I drive my husband crazy quoting the movie - I think he's really over my interpretation of the "tuna abomination" scene.

That said, I have to tell you I am disappointed in the characters at WDW.  I was down in June (supposed to be with husband, illness kept him home, but I was also on business, so went by myself) and had Stitch on the top of my list of things to see (well, right after riding RNRC 5 times).  I did spy him on my way out of AK, but I didn't like the expression he had - it wasn't mischevious enough.  He needs more coffee.

So, if that's the character they're thinking of putting at the Luau - wouldn't make ME any more likely to see it, but I'm sure the kids would love it.  Go for it!

I was not in any hurry to see Lilo and Stitch when it was released.  I didn't think they looked "cute enough" as I saw earlier in this discussion.  Well, after my kids drug me to the movie (Knowing it was Disney I knew it couldn't be awful! ) me and my husband both fell in love with it!  The movie makes the characters cute.  It is just a sweet story and Stitch has become a favorite around our household.  That being said, I think they would make a wonderful addition to the Luau.  Maybe if only in the early show.  I know I had thought about attending the luau on our next trip, but when I asked my daughters they were really only interested if Stitch would be there.  BTW saw the last post and I don't know why Stitch was having such a bad day at AK.  When me and my daughter met him and Lilo at MGM he was his usual crazy self!  He messed with my daughters hair and clowned around with her.  It was actually the highlight of her trip!  Of course that could have had more to do with Lilo giving Mommy a "raspberry" because there was no Lilo pin on our lanyards!

I would like to see a traditional luau show for the later performance and a more "kid friendly" show with the characters from Lilo and Stitch during the earlier show.  I always enjoyed the old Luau!

I see kirby 428's points.  There are a subset of Disney theme park visitors who, when seeing a dinner show, may not necessarily want to see "cartoon characters" at those shows.  Without commenting on whether "Lilo and Stitch" is a good/bad film, some variety of entertainment at WDW can include themed dinner shows without animated characters in them and still be pleasing to anyone of any age or taste.

The film "Lilo and Stitch" is more than a year old.  Back in more prosperous "synergistic" times a Lilo and Stitch show perhaps at the Polynesian or replacing the Mickey/Minnie Mouse-themed luau that had been there would've been a hot and great idea.  It would have capitalized on the movie yet offered a choice to guests:  Luau the way it's always been, or themed in a family-friendly way to this hot animated movie, or skip it altogether.  Would've made more sense to do it a year ago.  But the title is still popular but not current anymore.

I guess leave the current luau dinner show the way it is and give guests other ways to see these particular characters.

Ah, but the new "Stitch - The Movie" video and DVD is about to come out, and that will be followed by the Stitch TV series. So even though Disney didn't act right away, there's still time!

Not sure how they would meld Lilo & Stitch with the Spirit of Aloha dinner show, except maybe having the characters do a meet & greet in the "lobby" area outside of the venue before seating guests.  The characters are a definite fit for the Polynesian, just not the story line of the current SOA.  We never did see them on our trip, and wish we could have because that is what my youngest knows of Disney, really.  A lot of the characters he is just not familiar with, so didn't want to interact with them.
