Would you like to see Lilo and Stitch at the Polynesian Resort's Spirit of Aloha luau?

Do you think adding them would improve the show?

Disney changed the old Polynesian luau into the Spirit of Aloha show and tried to make it more kid-friendly. They previously dropped the first of three nightly luau dinner shows, the family-oriented Mickey's Tropical Luau which featured Disney Characters (including Minnie in a hula skirt) and authentic Polynesian dancers.

The current Spirit of Aloha show features songs from Disney's Lilo & Stitch, but not any of the Characters themselves. Do you think the show would be improved by adding Lilo and Stitch in person?

Once again, here are the choices in the poll:
  • Yes, I'd love to see Lilo & Stitch added to the Polynesian Resort's Spirit of Aloha show! Just don't serve him coffee!!
  • No, mahalo. I like the Spirit of Aloha show just the way it is.
  • I can't decide which way to vote, but I have my own comments and suggestions below.

We would have gone to the Spirit of Aloha show on our latest trip to WDW if Stitch was in the show. Stitch is our son's favorite character. I'd also like to see Minnie put back into the show, dressed in her cute grass skirt! So I vote Yes.

Reply with what you think about this! By the way, there are two other threads currently on the Disney Echo which relate to the Spirit of Aloha show here and here.

Although I have never seen the show (old or new) :Oo:  I think adding Lilo and Stitch would make it more "Kid" friendly.

I'm just going by everything I've read about the show.....

I asked my honey about doing a character breakfast on our December trip and the only comment I got was, "I WANT STITCH!"  Well, if that isn't enough to tell you about my thoughts on this.  lol  Mickey

I think that they should add Lilo and Stich for the first show of the night! That is probably when more families are likely to go!

:( At the risk of being extremely negative (and in the minority opinion on this poll), some of us do not think Lilo and Stitch are drawn cute.  I did not see the movie on purpose.  I did not like the animation art so I did not pay to watch it at the movies and I would not enjoy a dinner show with walking representations of the badly drawn un-cute characters as a part.  Bring on the real live human hula girls and the flame twirlers!  I go to the Luau for an enhansement of the Polynesian cultural theme and not to re-live a movie I refused to see.  The character shows geared toward the kids are taking over the dinner show options.  Give the Grumpys a break.

Yoo Hoo, kirby428!

I see your point, but the previous luau at the Polynesian used to have a version for adults and one with the Disney Characters added in the early show to make it more appealing to families with kids. So, the precedent has been set.

How 'bout if just the early show has Lilo & Stitch added?

I suppose it is unavoidable.  Lilo and Stitch is the animated match for the Polynesian Resort.  I'm resigned to encounter the characters often during my stay.  I should probably see the movie, eh?  In my arrogant, way-over-the-hill, grumpy old codger opinion, I still don't think they were drawn cute, but maybe the story line and the music could compensate.  There must be something in the animated movie to make the kids go...um..."pineapples"...over Lilo and Stitch.  What ever happened to the artist(s) who drew Jessica Rabbit?

Aloha
