We are planning to go to Chef Mickey's for breakfast one morning-the latest seating we can get.  I would like to be at magic kingdom first thing in the morning then go to breakfast.
I am inexperienced with this.  How do I get to Chef Mickey's from MK?

You could walk, heading left as you exit the park and going along the walkway found in between the Magic Kingdom and the MK bus area.

But the best way would be to take the monorail: After exiting the Magic Kingdom, turn right and go to the monorail station. Take the "Resorts Only" walkway and go up to the station. When you exit the monorail inside the Contemporary Resort, go down the escalator turn right at the bottom of the escalator (take the elevator instead if you need to) and walk along the corridor -- then turn right again and you'll be passing by the Concourse Steakhouse on your right before you come to Chef Mickey's right in front of you.

Say "Yoo Hoo!" to Mickey for me!  :mickey:

Depending on the speed of the slowest person in your group, it might take 3 to 5 minutes or so to get from the MK exit to the monorail station. If you're lucky and there's a monorail waiting for you there, you'll arrive at the Contemporary in about 4 minutes or less (it is just one stop away). But you might have to wait as long as 10 minutes or so for a monorail to come if you are not lucky.

Once inside the Contemporary Resort, it will probably take about 5 minutes to get out of the monorail and to Chef Mickey's.

Remember to get to Chef Mickey's 5 minutes before your PS is set for.

I'm moving this to the Disney Dining & Priority Seating message forum so others will see it and can reply to it there.

If I have learned nothing, I have learned that it almost ALWAYS takes longer to get anywhere in DW than I think it will!

As Rich has pointed out, it shouldn't take too long because MK and Contemporary are very close to one another.  BUT....if you have to walk from, say, Adventureland to the monorails....and you hit a crowd of people wanting to get on the monorail...and you have to wait for a monorail...or even 2....it can take longer than anticipated.

Allow plenty of time!  Even if you get there way before your reses, the Contemporary has IMHO some of the best shops! They are right next to the restaurant...and I'm pretty sure the pagers they hand out reach that far (although I'd double check on that! )

please make sure you have a  PS  for  Chef Mickeys!
I was booking  today  for  people  and  Nov  is pretty  full....
Dining is very busy  still......
Also we always tell guests  every priority seating to  allow  45  mins  travel  time  from wherever you are to your destination  just in case  theres  crowds,  late  transportation,  whatever.....
