Well guys, a week from today I will leave for FW.  Started putting away the dry food and canned goods in the camper.  Found out I had to roll up some sleeping bags from the last trip and pick up miscellaneous shoes (family is failing me).  Been checking the 15 day forecast (as if that is accurate) and it looks so far like weather in the 80's.  Can't Wait!!! :clapping:

Hey mickeysdad,

We'll be leaving for WDW on 11/8.  Just the wife and I are flying down for a few days at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival.  Make sure to check it out.

lady marganne,

Did you stay at Fort Wilderness or elsewhere?  If at Fort Wilderness, how was it?  Notice anything new/different?

Just got back yesterday from our week at FW.  The Fort looked great and I must say, even though some may not have liked the thinning of the trees, it really was an improvement.  In fact, I think they could have taken out a few more.  Not to worry, the folks at FW did plant new trees in most areas.  For everyone who likes electric scooters, FW now allows them.  I have mixed feelings since I saw a lot of little kids riding them recklessly.  Weather was hot and humid and had some rain, especially at night, but also quite a bit during the day on Thursday.  Not enough to kill the mood, though.  Did two days of golf - it was fantastic.  Mission Space is a MUST DO.  I didn't see anyone get sick.  I don't see how Disney will ever top this one.  Haunted Mansion set at MGM was also a must do.  Pretty neat job, just like being in the grand ballroom at the ride, but from a ghost's perspective.  Food at Trail's End was superb, as usual.  Had a game stew on Friday night with buffalo, venison and turkey which is well worth the trip.  Prices went up a bit from last year, but still a value.  Saw our favorite waiter Ken at breakfast there - ask for him if you go, he always has something positive to say.  Looking forward to our trip in February to WL.

Hi mickeysdad,

Glad to hear you had a good trip!  Had they started putting up any of the Christmas decorations in Fort Wilderness yet?

My wife and I just returned from our long weekend at the Swan and we notice the Boardwalk and Beach Club had already put up their Christmas trees, there was Christmas garland adorning the boardwalk posts and Disney was playing Christmas music in the Boardwalk area.  We also notice Disney was beginning its decorations at Epcot - they were building up the lighted archway between Futureworld and the World Showcase.

Jeff:

The Meadows and Settlement trading posts had started decorating.  There was a display in the center of the Meadows trading post - a couple of small lighted Christmas trees with Huey, Louie and Dewey around it.  There was also the new Disney HO scale train around the tree, but it was never running.

:santa:

Well on Dec 13th we will arrive at FtW and enjoy 10 glorious nights.  We hope the weather is OK. We have never gone swimming outside in December and can't wait to jump into one (or both) pools at FtW.

Also getting excited at seeing Christmas in WDW.  It has to be one of the best places in the universe at that time of year.

So what can we expect temperature wise?  Upper 70s, Low 70s?
