Hi!  I just joined this fanstastic site.  I have been to Walt Disney World about 25 times, and I love it!!!  I am also a fourth grade teacher in PA, and I pass my love of Disney onto my students.  I am hoping to gain a lot of information from this site to share with my family, friends, and students.  My family is also a member of the vacation club.  We belong to Old Key West and we just love it there.  We are anxious for Saratoga Springs to open.

Yoo Hoo, Sue!

Thanks so much for the kind words and for joining the fun here at the Disney Echo! Here's your own pair of Disney EchoEars:

Besides picking up a lot of tips and meeting new Disney friends through the Echo, I hope you share your DVC tips and experiences with us -- we need more participation in the Disney Vacation Club message forum!

Welcome, Sue! Glad to see you hear.
:)

Hi and welcome to the Echo! You're so lucky to be a member of the DVC, wish I could afford something like that! You gotta tell us all about it sometime! :mickey:

It is actually my parents who purchased the points at Old Key West, but I get to use them.  I should have been clearer and said that my parents are Vacation Club members, and I get to enjoy the benefits of their membership!!!    They figured in the long run that they would actually save money because we go to Disney World so often by becoming a member.  When my parents joined they actually received two free park hopper tickets for the length of their stay.  They took advantage of the free tickets for about eight years (I think).  It was quite an incentive to become a member.  Have a great day!!!

Welcome aboard, Sue!  Glad to have you aboard.  Nice to know that teachers out there love Disney as much as the rest of us do.  Hope you enjoy the boards! LOL

Thank you Turnlisa.  I am afraid that I am the only teacher in my building that is totally addicted to Disney.  But I did manage to convince the other teachers a few years back to have a week long celebration honoring Walt Disney's 100th birthday.  I think everyone had a lot of fun.  We did something dealing with Walt Disney for about 45 minutes a day, all week.  The students loved it!!!  My next goal is that I am trying to convince some of the teachers to take a week long course with me, that is offered at the Contemporary Resort. Well, take care.  I look forward to chatting with you in the future!

Wow SGault71, talk about your being blessed! :minnie: I wish I was so fortunate, your parents are so wonderful to do that for you and your family! You guys must have such a blast.

Writing that just brought to mind an idea. Do you think that being a DVC member might even be something you can pass on down to future members of a family? Wouldn't that be fantastic, being able to pass something along like that as inheritance?

I really am blessed because I am very close to my parents.  Yes, the time share was good for 50 years when they purchased it.  It definitely can be passed down to a family member.  We are raising my 6 year old nephew and my 3 year old niece to be Disney freaks as well, so I am sure that my family will be going to Disney for many years to come.  We love it!!! Have a great evening.  Thanks for writing back!!! :)
