We were there from 8/18 - 8/25 and had a fabulous trip!  We were offered  1st flr rooms (3) that were ready at our 8am arrival but we opted to wait til 3pm for our request of three 3rd flr rooms.  They had one of our 3 rooms ready on the 3rd flr so we were able to put all of our luggage in there.

The concierge staff couldn't have been more helpful.  E-ride tickets, PS's made the same day, and any questions were answered pleasantly.  No rudeness found here.  They even called another CM who was known to frequent flea markets and he gave my father directions to the best ones (dad's a record collector and no trip is complete without a stop to one).

Housekeeping and concierge help with the food were always smiling, pleasant and greeted us with "Aloha".  Food was always pleantiful and staff was always in sight replenishing food offerings, and tidying up.  There was a sign posted in the lounge that shirt and shoes were required.  I did see a few men without shoes, one woman in her bathrobe, and a few young wemon (late teens, 20's) who looked like they rolled out of bed and into the breakfast line.  I did laugh to myself in the afternoon though when my 3yr old was watching cartoons in the lounge, when a lady with a cardboard box (from a case of soda) would stand to be 1st in line for the evening offerings.  She would arrive about 4:45 and wait with her box while the staff would be setting up the food.  I witnessed this 3 afternoons, so I can only imagine this was her routine everday!

No complaints about housekeeping.  Rooms were always clean and linens replaced.  No towel animals this trip.  Talked with a few housekeepers and all said the same thing.  They were hard pressed to get it all done in the time frame they had.  Rooms were clean, I didn't see the wear and tear, some have complained about.  Our refridgerator worked well, and there was no evidence of mold in the bathroom.

Although our trip was great I can understand how someone who has stayed concierge before would be alittle disappointed this time.  Hawaii is a much more central location and I'm sure the lounge would be much more roomier.  I would difenitly stay there again, and the updated Hawaii bldg would give me something to look forward to!

:laughbig: Thanks for the positive concierge trip report.  I was a little worried about my upcoming trip.  First time to stay LVC and I was worried about being in different building than normal and some reports of not being happy that maybe I had made the wrong decision to splurge for this amenity.  Thanks for taking the time to report to us.

Thank you, very much!

I have been reading a few negative reports, and your report is like a breath of fresh air.

I would also love to hear from rlt431 and Ciavobella upon your return.

JoeandJenn,
I don't know anything about crowds for labor day week, but from 8/16 - 8/25 they were fairly heavy.  We did the parks the day after they had thier EE day.  We just couldn't get ourselves together to be at the parks before 9am.  This seemed to work ok.  We tried to get a FP for a popular attraction,  ride another popular one, then go back to the FP (ie: FP for test track, ride mission space and then go back to test track with our FP when in epcot.  In MGM FP for tower of terror, ride rock n roller coaster, then back with our FP).  By 10:30 - 11:00, the FP return times were about 3pm or later with a standby time of about 60 minutes!  Get there early.  We always went back to the hotel around 1pm and went back out around 5pm.

Have a great time!
