We just booked for the weekend following Thanksgiving '04 (starting Nov 26th). They said there was no AAA discount. I thought thats how everyone saved a few $$?
I realize that they have started a new "season" to keep rates a bit higher, but I thought AAA was available all the time. Should I try to book through AAA instead? Disney rate was $53/nt before taxation.

Thats seem kind of odd to me. If it were me I would at least call and get an estamet from AAA. We always book throught them so we never have ahd a problem. Good Luck. :coonskin:

It may be that AAA rates for that period just aren't in the system yet.  Regardless, it's a good idea to go ahead and make your reservation...you can always call back and get a discounted rate applied to an existing reservation.  You're not locked in to the rate at which you booked.

I have called AAA. They called WDW for rates I guess as my AAA rep had Disney on the phone when she called me about dates. The AAA quote turned out to be identical to the WDW quote. I will check AAA again after the new year. Thanks.

Wow, that seems high, but I am not staying at a prime time which I think your dates might be.  We got a AAA rate for this December for $33/night and so maybe if you shift your dates a few days in either direction you can swing a better deal?  Our dates are technically the weekend after thanksgiving too, but for this year- so maybe they really really hiked prices???

Yes, before Thanksgiving you can get a break. But my wife, like many others, want to see Disney in Christmas dress. And we are going to use the extra couple days holiday time from our employers so we can do a ten day trip. For year '04, Disney has implemented a new "season". Called Pre-Holiday or some such. This increased the rates between Thanksgiving and New Years.
No big deal. This is our first trip to FW. We'll make it a good one, then try Tropical Palms the next time.
