Howdy!

We will be driving into Orlando from Chattanooga with an uncertain ETA near 6PM, so I am reluctant to call for Priority Seating.  On arrival we will not be staying at a Disney Resort, but would like to be able to drive to the Fort Wilderness parking lot and take the bus to Pioneer Hall for supper at Trail's End.  Is this possible?  Are PS needed or available at Trail's End to be granted access to the parking lot or past other security gates? :flag:

Yoo Hoo, kirby428!

PS is not offered at Trail's End. You'll be able to park in the same parking lot that Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue guests will be using, and then take a Settlement bus to Trail's End.

since the parking lot has been changed you will want to skip the first entrance - this is only for resort guests,  use the second entrance and catch a bus back to Trails End

We stayed at FtW in May. We arrived kind of late and went up to Trail End for dinner.  It was pretty busy as it was Sunday, but we only waited about 20 minutes.  We sat on the porch of Crockett's Tavern in rocking chairs watching the guests leaving the Hoop De Doo Revue show. In no time we were called to our table.

Yoo Hoo, rocklandrvers!

Yeah, sure would like to read a trip report about your May vacation here on the Disney Echo, rocklandrvers.
:wink2:

But I'm in no position to talk, as I haven't started posting the June one of ours that I'm working on.

To get to Fort Wilderness you'll either have to pass through the Magic Kingdom main entrance parking toll plaza (if you come down World Drive) or through a security station (if you come via Vista Blvd).  If the Magic Kingdom is still open you'll be asked to pay for parking unless you're a Disney resort guest or you have admission media that includes parking (like an annual pass).  I believe they let folks through if they show they have a Priority Seating at one of the MK resort restaurants but I'm not sure about that.  As others have said, Priority Seating isn't available at Trails End Restaurant so that won't help.

Hello.  I am fairly new to this forum.  I have a few questions about the Trail's End Buffet.  There are no PS needed for here ( is that correct?)  So if we are going for Dinner do we just show up and put in our name or is there a way if you are staying at another WDW Resort to put you name in before you go that day?

I am also curious about how to get there from All Star Movies Resort.  We are going in Dec. 2004 but I am always planned and ready well in advance.  I hate leaving things to the last minute.

Thanks.

Yoo Hoo, Jennifer / PoohBear8473!

First of all, thanks for joining the Disney Echo and posting your first message! Here's a pair of EchoEars as my gift to you for joining the fun here:

You're correct: No PS is needed at Trail's End. In fact, it is not even possible to get one there! And yes, you just show up and tell the CM at the restaurant's podium that you'd like to eat there . . . depending on how crowded the place is you'll either be seated then or told to wait. Remember, this is the wilderness so things are done a bit differently than how things are done in the big city!

If you have your own car, Guest Services at whichever All Star Resort you'll be staying at can provide you with a map and directions on how to drive to the Fort Wilderness parking lot. From there you'd take any of the internal Fort Wilderness buses to the Settlement area of Fort Wilderness -- Trail's End is just a short walk away from where the bus will let you out.

Without a car you could take a Disney bus from any of the theme parks to Fort Wilderness and once you're in the settlement area (either by having the bus let you off directly there or after switching to an internal FW bus to get you there) you'd walk to Trail's End.

The easiest way to get there would be to already be at the Magic Kingdom, in which case you wouldn't take a bus to FW but you'd take a boat instead. After getting off at the Fort Wilderness marina (make sure you don't get off at Wilderness Lodge's marina in case it also stops there), you'll be very close to Trail's End and will be able to walk there quite easily.
