He's Loose!

Scheduled to debut in 2004 at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., Stitch's Great Escape! will feature the mischievous alien star of Disney's animated feature film "Lilo & Stitch" in a hilarious family-friendly adventure. Set before the events of the hit movie, the new Magic Kingdom attraction in Tomorrowland will showcase the madcap mayhem caused by the playful "Experiment 626" -- a k a Stitch -- in the Galactic Federation and will include some of the most sophisticated Audio-Animatronics® technology ever developed by Walt Disney Imagineering.

Mischief Abounds in Stitch's Great Escape!

The Academy Award-nominated film "Lilo & Stitch" inspires the new Magic Kingdom attraction Stitch's Great Escape! scheduled to open in late 2004.

A "prequel" set shortly before the events of the hit Disney motion picture "Lilo & Stitch," the family-friendly adventure in Tomorrowland will showcase the mayhem caused by the mischievous "Experiment 626" -- a.k.a. Stitch -- when first discovered in the Galactic Federation.

Entering Stitch's Great Escape!, Magic Kingdom guests are recruited by the Galactic Federation Grand Councilwoman to provide additional security for a captured alien whose reputation for being extremely "difficult" has preceded him. Even so, authorities underestimate Stitch's capacity for playful disobedience, causing havoc to erupt with guests caught in the middle of the fun.

Stitch's Great Escape! will feature some of the most sophisticated Audio-Animatronics® technology ever developed by Walt Disney Imagineering.

Stitch's Great Escape! replaces The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter, which will close later this month.

Yoo Hoo, Disney EchoEars!

Now that Alien Encounter has closed to make way for Stitch's Great Escape!, Timekeeper and Carousel of Progress are open once again to make up for it.

Scheduled times:
Timekeeper is open from 10 am to 6 pm and the Carousel of Progress is open from park opening to park closing.

There really is a great big beautiful tomorrow!

But I can't help think about all those poor Disneyland Guests and the sorry state their Tomorrowland is in.

And I knew that Disney Magic was powerful, but have you noticed that in Timekeeper the World Trade Center towers are still standing?
:Oo:

What do you mean? What's wrong with the Disneyland Tomorrowland? Please explain as I'll be heading out there for Christmas as you know.

There aren't very many attractions open in DL's Tomorrowland. And now they're even starting to close that land's eating areas since no one has very much of a reason to go there.

Try out their Autopia, though -- even though I bet you've done the one at WDW's MK many times, there's is better.

There's no real reason for you to see Honey, I Shrunk The Audience there. And the only thing different about Star Tours in DL's Tomorrowland is the pre-show theming -- but go and see that because the layout is just about exactly the same as when they had Adventures in Inner Space there decades ago. Their Astro Orbiter is pretty much the same as the version of the attraction at WDW's MK, only much lower to the ground. And just like the MK at WDW, they have a video game area in Tomorrowland. Whoopee.
:glare:

Their version of Innoventions is not as good as Epcot's.

You can also get on the monorail in their Tomorrowland, but the number of monorails has been severely cut back because they haven't been maintaining them and they desperately need to have them replaced. If you ride on one, look for duct tape holding some of the interior panels together. I'm not kidding. Don't get off at Downtown Disney, however, unless you get your hand stamped for re-entry -- otherwise stay on it for a round-trip back to Tomorrowland.

And once you've had your fill of Ghosttownland, er, I mean Tomorrowland, you can also hop aboard the train there to get the heck out of that land.
:punched:

Ah! I finally found your reply! Sorry for taking so long to respond everyone, I had to fend off a virus that was attempting to affect my computer for the past three days or so, and in the process whenever I tried to keep up with the Echo I kept getting bumped. I have the feeling I missed out on a lot of new messages and replies in the process

But anyway that sounds just.....well how can I word it? I can't believe Disney is just letting Tomorrowland suffer like that, it doesn't make sense. That's all they have in it? Why don't they put in more so people will go there? Why not mission space or heck, any of the cool stuff at WDW like Buzz Lightyear? I just don't get it and frankly I find it shocking. I can't see any reason for Disneyland to let something like that happen to a whole area of the park, it doesn't make sense! :o

Oh well I guess I'll just have to lower my expectations when I see Tomorrowland on Christmas. That's just......the wrong thing to do to Disneyland

If you scroll up to the first article in this group of messages, you'll see what the new Stitch attraction will be all about. I haven't heard any more specific word about when it will open.

The WDW website says that Stitch's Great Escape! will open in the fall of 2004.

Rumor has it that it will be in the month of October in 2004.
