Yes, it's the Circle of Life.  Everyone join hands and sing as the hyenas have lunch.

Oh, I'm so bad!

Any words of tribute to the late Betsy?

She was a teacher. Taught all who came to Animal Kingdom about giraffes in like-natural habitat and in context with other animals from Africa. With such a tall neck, Betsy stood out above the rest of the animals in the park, an educator out standing in her field.

Betsy also provided jobs. For veternarians, animal caretakers, maybe even veternarian interns, for animal preservationists, and of course for Cast Members who conducted the tours. Betsy provided script writers, landscape architects and landscape maintanance crews, Imagineers, accountants and more with a livelihood. Betsy also had turnover impact on the economy, what with needing fresh giraffe food frequently, ongoing care, transportation around the world and then, I guess, out of Walt Disney World at her life's end. And then for those suppliers of support goods and services the fact Betsy had ongoing needs provided still more jobs and economic impact. So you see that Betsy fueled in her proportionate way the economy of Central Florida and of a Fortune 500 corporation, thus helping stockholders.

Lastly, surely Betsy had animal companions in the park and perhaps back home in Africa who knew her in special ways we're not privy to.

Betsy, you enhanced our vacation and the vacations of thousands of people each day you were at Walt Disney World. You gave several people meaningful and lucrative jobs and helped in your way the economy remain robust while also inspiring conservation and appreciation for the animals of this world. Thank you, Betsy, even though you were not in your true natural habitat, for educating us and providing us with respite from our daily cares. All the best to you in your animal afterlife. You are missed.  :musicsad:

And next week in Flame Tree Barbecue, barbecued giraffe!

Betsy, it's the gift that keeps on giving.

"I once shot an elephant in my pajamas.
What he was doing in my pajamas, I dunno."

-Groucho Marx

She's not dead, she was just "repurposed".  :)

That explains the new show at the Castle Forecourt stage:

Mickey, dressed in peasant garb, enters and explains that Minnie Moo was underutilized, so he made a deal with some hyenas:
"I sold the cow for some magic beans!"

Mickey runs off as the Disney Suits rush in, costumed in hyena
costumes and singing:
"We'll have food!  Lots of food!  We repeat, endless meat!"

Mickey returns with reinforcements from the Main Street Barbershop,
who are all singing:
"We've got a date tonight at 8, so MEAT me down on Main Street.
"You bring a knife -- I'll bring a plate.
"Food grazing down on Main Street.
"You'll order rib-eye from the horsecar --
"I'll buy you a hambur-gar!
"Our little hometown is a sirloin-land down on old Main Street!"

-Rich Koster, writing on rec.arts.disney.parks on Nov 4, 2001 about the passing of Minnie Moo

The giraffe is my favorite animal and I go on KS at least twice every trip so I can see them.  I am sure I have a ton of pictures of Betsy.  RIP sweet creature

Maybe they could create a robot giraffe that looks just like Betsy to replace her and put that in Animal Kingdom.

Then they'd have to call the safari attraction the Jungle Cruise.
:D
