Rich,

When you post pictures obtained of new attractions, etc., would it be possible to put them in a picture area under the general topic they belong under, and to make a general file of them that gets added to rather than separate individual messages?

The recent photos you've been adding of Mission: Space are colorful, enticing, fun to see.  But you are posting them as if they are individual postings under the WDW category.  The result is when I receive a message notification E-mail of a new posting under a message topic I've replied to, I receive _individual_ messages there is something "new".  I click the link and even on a DSL connection it loads very slowly.  Once there I see more than one image that, obviously while I'm there, can scroll through and view and "get it overwith".   Then I return to my Inbox to continue clearing out E-mails.  I see more message notifications from your site, and once I click on the link I discover it's picture #2 of the ten I already just viewed, etc., etc., etc.

Basically the point is you want to show off new photos of a Disney venue as they come in.  "Other Disney fan sites on the Internet" seem to handle this by doing separate illustrated "articles" with captions and creating Part I, Part II, etc. as more come in past their daily article posting deadline.  Articles could contain several photos and you scroll through them.  Probably the subscriber members of these sites only receive a single notification per article.  Or in message areas you could simply say "Ten new photos here [URL link to click]."  If more photos come in "save them up" and just add a Part II, etc., of them all gathered into one article w/captions.

Or maybe your participants can suggest some other ideas.

What I'm trying to express is a request for a single notice of new photo_s_ available, not multiple notices representing each element of photo you are posting.  If ten new photos posted of Mission: Space then = one notice about it, not ten.
Those who have the necessary chore of clearing out Inboxes would appreciate the greater efficiency of their time as well as the joy of seeing new stuff at one of the Disney Happiest Places on Earth.

Thanks.  Others' mileages may vary or perhaps others have better suggestions.

Good point. However, we already have MouseNotes, a relatively new Disney Echo member newsletter that does basically what you're asking for.

For those like you who don't want up-to-the-minute notification when someone has responded to a message you've written about or replied to (or simply instructed the Disney Echo software to keep track of and notify you in email -- called "Your Mouseke-Tracker"), make sure you uncheck the box next to "Do you wish to Mouseke-Track this topic?" when you post a message or reply to an existing one. By default, this feature is "on."

Then subscribe to MouseNotes, which are not going to spam your email inbox with a notification for each message and won't even send out a daily list like some websites do. It is designed for EchoEars who choose to sign up for this feature to alert them to important messages posted on the Disney Echo (complete with links) and breaking news you can use, rather than constantly putting out mailings every day.

It won't alert you to every single new thing, but just the really important updates. And granted, you won't know about everything right as it happens, but that's why we also offer the Mouseke-Tracker -- or you can chose neither of these and simply look at the Disney Echo Welcome Page under where it says "Just take a look at all the things that Disney EchoEars have been writing about recently" and check the list of recently-posted subjects, then only look at what interests you -- or check the scrollable list under "H°o°t T°o°pics" on the Disney Echo's main forum page and use it the same way.

By the way, to turn off "Your Mouseke-Tracker" notifications, go to "Your MouseControl Panel" and then select "Mouseke-Tracker" and select "off" for each topic you are subscribed to.

So, whatever best suits you, you already do have a choice.
:)

Yoo Hoo, Disney EchoEars!

You might be happy to hear that I just made a modification to how the Topic Mouseke-Tracker works: It is now possible to stop subscriptions on all of the topics in your Mouseke-Tracker at once, rather than having to select "Stop Mouseke-Tracking" one topic at a time, waiting for the screen to refresh each time.

Click here for the complete details and simple instructions on how to use this new feature.
