I know that the voice of the haunted mansion attraction is Paul Freese who does the voice for the Halloween version of this attraction?:mickey:

Yoo Hoo, Jeff!

I have a hunch, but I'm checking with my DL CM sources before I let ya know. Stay tooned!

Yoo Hoo, Jeff!

My hunch was right! I figured it was Corey Burton, and it was. Here's what my good friend inside Disneyland wrote me:

"Corey Burton is the voice actor who did the impersonation of Paul Frees for Nightmare before Christmas overlay at Haunted Mansion. He also re-created Frees in the Pirates of the Caribbean Enhancement a few years ago. (remember the NOT politically correct upgrade!). He voiced the new Gluttonous Pirate (used to be "Pooped Pirate"), who now talks about chicken legs as he keeps the turkey wing away from the cat popping out of the barrel.

Even when I listen to both these voices (Christmas Ghost Host and Gluttonous Pirate) up close on the monitor speakers in the sound room, I can hardly
believe I am not listening to Paul Frees. Corey Burton does a great job.

He also did the voice of Gaetan 'Mole' Moliere in Atlantis, as well as MANY other Disney character voices. You can do a search of his credits on < http://www.imdb.com. > There is also an official website for him at < http://www.coreyburton.com/ > ."

Glad I could help, Jeff!

Yoo Hoo, Disney EchoEars!

Here's the reply Jeff got from Corey Burton after he contacted him about the DL Haunted Mansion attraction.

Corey is very modest about his great talent!

Hey Jeff -

I appreciate the compliments on the Holiday Mansion track;  the original Frees narration is what inspired me to do this kind of work in the first place. But I do this only in tribute to the actual HM attraction, and in no way would I consider myself as a replacement, nor up to the genius of Mr. Frees, so I'm uncomfortable being publicly praised for it on the messageboard. With that said, I've been responding by personal email on the subject, and dropping all public postings on the matter.  But I'm
glad to have managed to emulate the Master well enough to please the true fans of this magnificent attraction, such as yourself! Thanks, once again for your kind remarks.

Yoo Hoo, Phygmynt!

Glad to see you included the wink! Huh-ha!! I guess that means you know that Corey provides the voice for  Ludwig Von Drake and many others right now on Disney's House of Mouse!

Can he do Von Drake? And how!

EchoEars, check out < Corey's official website > and see all that he's done!

I was asking an honest question, but I went to the website shortly thereafter and ...

Sadly, I have not heard any of his von Drake and I would love to.   My cable does not offer Toon Disney and I cannot get "House of th Mouse" and I miss "Raw Toonage".

It is my belief that Paul Frees did a certain amount of ad-lib with the von Drake character and I was curious as to Mr. Burton's ability to imitate that same charm.

Yoo Hoo, Phygmynt!

Well, if you can get the ABC-TV network you can watch Disney's House of Mouse... It is on ABC's One Saturday Morning and airs, uh, each Saturday morning!

Check your local listings for time and channel. I hope you can get ABC!

Sadly, not in the Washington DC area where I live
The local ABC affiliate has almost completely done away with Saturday morning toons.  Teacher's Pet at 6 am, then an hour of Recess, then Lizzie McGuire.  Paid Programming from 8 to 10:30, then Even Stevens, Lloyd in Space, and ?? !Hollywood Squares ??!, followed by another hour of paid programming.

FWIW, I am 46 years old and grew up as a Saturday morning TV addict.  It is sad to see that American Tradition fade.
:unhappy:

Hey Phygment (one of my favorites Disney Theme Park characters by the way) if you follow that link in a post above me, and click on the audio demo you can listen to Corey's Animation voices and I know I heard Von Drake in there a couple of times.  He's really good.
I am impressed!! :mickey:
