- Q: What is Disney Motion and why do you recommend that I download it?
A: Disney Motion is the newest feature on Disney.com for broadband Internet users. It will let you view TV-quality video every day without any buffering. It's instant and it's totally free.

- Q: I just installed Disney Motion. Why am I seeing only one "welcome" video?
A: Disney Motion works by automatically and transparently downloading high-quality video files to your computer as soon as new video is available. When you first install Disney Motion, you will not have any video files on your machine yet. It may take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours for your first videos to arrive. Check back in a little bit and you should have a new video available for viewing. Look for the red D-Ball logo on the right side of your Windows taskbar (your "system tray") ... when you see this icon, that means new video is available for viewing. To view the video, either double-click the D-Ball icon or just head directly to the Disney.com home page and it will start playing automatically.
- Q: I just installed Disney Motion. Why does the Disney.com home page keep telling me to download Disney Motion again?
A: It's possible that you downloaded the Disney Motion installer program itself rather than having installed Disney Motion directly. First, check to see if you have downloaded a file called disneymotionsetup.exe. The icon will be an installer package logo. If you have, double-click on the file and follow the installation steps. If you can't find a file on your computer by that name, try walking through the download process again, and make sure you click "Open" or "Run from this location" in the dialogue boxes. When you return to the Disney.com home page after either of these steps, you should see a "Welcome" video or a message saying that videos are coming soon (see the previous answer for why this happens).
- Q: What are the minimum system requirements to run Disney Motion?
A: To run Disney Motion, you must meet the following requirements:
a. A PC running Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, or Windows XP
b. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or greater
c. Macromedia Flash 6 plug-in or greater
d. A high-speed connection
Disney Motion is not currently supported by the Macintosh operating system and only plays on Internet Explorer 5 or greater on a PC.
- Q: When I try to install Disney Motion, my computer tells me I don't have enough rights to install it. What sort of rights do I need and how do I get them?
A: When you're in a networked environment, your network administrator may only give you certain rights to your own machine. For instance, you will not be able to make modifications to your system software or add third-party plug-ins and other programs to your browser which may increase the functionality (but potentially decrease the safety) of your machine. In order to install Disney Motion, you need to have "admin" rights to your machine. Usually, this just involves calling your network administrator and informing him/her what you'd like to do. At that point, he/she can either a) log in and perform the installation for you, b) give you admin rights, or c) give you temporary admin rights just for this installation.
- Q: Is it really streaming as I am watching it? Why doesn't it need buffering? How does Disney Motion really work, anyhow?
A: Disney Motion is revolutionary in that it provides users with crystal-clear instant-on video right inside the Disney.com home page. This is made possible by the fact that we aren't really "streaming" any video to you at all. Every time new Disney Motion video is published out to our servers, the Disney Motion component on your computer will automatically go out and fetch the newest video and store it in a temporary location on your hard drive ... this all happens in the background and you shouldn't even notice anything going on. When a new video has been downloaded and is ready to view, you should see a D-Ball logo on the right side of your Windows taskbar (your "system tray"). Either click on this icon or just visit the Disney.com home page and your Disney Motion video will start playing automatically. Disney Motion always keeps the most recently downloaded videos on your machine so you may view them any time and as frequently as you want. As new videos come in, your old ones will be automatically deleted.
- Q: How long would it take me to download Disney Motion and how much RAM does it use when it's running?
A: Over a high-speed internet connection, the Disney Motion installer approximately takes about a minute or so to download. As for memory usage, Disney Motion takes up only about 7 megabytes of your computer's RAM.
- Q: I am seeing video but not hearing any sound. What could be the problem and how can I fix it?
A: Check to make sure your speakers are turned on and that your volume is turned up.
- Q: Will you be offering a Mac or otherwise non-IE/PC version of Disney Motion?
A: Most definitely. A Mac OS X version is in the works right now and should be ready in the near future. Other versions for other browsers and operating systems may follow after that.
- Q: How many times are new Disney Motion videos published? How can I find out the instant a new video is available?
A: Disney Motion videos are usually published twice a week. When a new video has been downloaded and is ready to view, you should see the D-Ball logo on the right side of your Windows taskbar (your "system tray"). Either click on this icon or just visit the Disney.com home page and your Disney Motion video will start playing automatically.
- Q: If I install Disney Motion, will the installer put any spyware or otherwise hidden applications on my system?
- Q: If I have ABC Motion, ESPN Motion, or Movies.com Motion, do I still need to download Disney.com Motion?
A: Yes, you will still need to download Disney Motion to see Motion content on the Disney.com home page.
- Q: How can I uninstall Disney Motion?
A: If you'd like to completely uninstall Disney Motion, go to your Start menu and select 'Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs'. From there you can remove Disney Motion just as you would any other Windows application.
