Hi all.  Sorry I haven't been able to continue my trip report, I am buried under a huge project at work.  I wanted to write a mini report on just the concierge part of the trip and our experience.

About 2 months before the trip we recived a message on the answering machine from plannng services offering to help us with trip planning.  I called their number back and left a message but never heard back from them.  Luckily Tikiman has the e-mail address on his web site, so I sent an e-mail and asked if we could do the planning via e-mail.  Tara responded yes and sent me a planning sheet to fill out.  I filled it in with all our PS requests.  Tara then sent it back with the times we had received and the PS numbers.  A little later I sent in a request to have a Pal Mickey and some beach toys placed in the room.  Tara said fine and asked if she could could use the credit card I had already given and I said fine.

Now we were going to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday on this trip.  I also let Tara know this.  Without my knowing it my wife and written to Tara and asked if she could purchase an anniversary cake for our dinner at the California Grill.  Tara said no problem.

The results of all of this, all but one of our PSs were correct including us getting an 8:05 seating for CRT!  The one that was wrong was obvious when we got into the park because the PS time was before the restraunt opened.  So it was no big deal.

We did not receive the items I had requested in the room when we checked in.  But the kids were given a nice kids pack which included a pail, shovel, coloring book and crayons.  It turned out we really didn't need the beach stuff because this was all I really wanted anyway (saved some money here).  As for Pal Mickey, I took my oldest DD up to Trader Jacks and as we are looking around I introduced her to Pal Mickey.  She really liked it and you should have seen her eyes light up when I suggested that we purchase it!  This worked out well too.  The cake for our anniversary did not show up, but the California Grill felt bad and comped us a big piece of chocolate cake which was just right.

Check-in itself went well, we didn't have to wait more than a couple of minutes even though there was only 1 person working (it was about 12:30 PM).  We got all our information, PSs, how to get the Donald print and a lei from him.  I will say that they had Disney bags piled all over the lounge at this point and were in the process of delivering them.  At first I thought they were requested surprises but now I am almost sure they were purchases from the parks being delivered to the rooms.  Soon after we were in the room there was a knock at the door and a Polynesian candy bar was delivered to the room.

Mousekeeping and turndown.  For five days we had Wendy as our mousekeeper and she was wonderful.  We left the little mousekeeping envelopes with tip on the bed every morning.  The first afternoon when we came back to the room we discovered a towel monkey hanging from one of the beds.

The next day while we were out there was a towel dog.

The next day we discovered a Ballou stuffed animal had been taking a shower.  He was on the bat tub ledge and had on a shower cap and was holding a towel.

The next day my youngest decided she didn't want to where her tinkerbell costume to CRT so we left it in the room.  Well it turns out that Ballou wanted to try it on and was watching TV when we returned to the room.

Later that night (which was our anniversary) we returned to discover a bottle of champagne, a balloon, card and neat chocolate set-up in the room.

That was the end of the week for Wendy I think as we didn't get any more fun items.  Though my oldest really got into the theme and dressed up Ballou herself one day for turndown.

Also I received a neat picture card personalized and signed by the big mouse himself for my birthday.

One last thing.  Turndown service.  We loved this.  Have the beds turned down, wastebaskets emptied and the little chocolates put on our pillows each night was great, but the absolute most important service we got at turndown was a new set of towels.  Between the hot weather and the pool, we were all taking two showers a day, so the extra towels were great.

As you can see even though everything didn't go perfect, there was still plenty of magic to be had.  Would we stay concierge again?  It cost $350 extra or $50 per day.  Between the waters, soy milk, sodas, breakfasts, snacks, late night drinks and two mini dinners that we eat at the lounge.  And factored in with the CRT reservtion and great seats at Hoop De Doo and California Grill.  Package delivery to our room.  I think it was all worth the money.

Well I think I have rambled on enough for now.  I big special thanks to RichKoster for his help with the pictures.

Did your kids go to check-in with you?

Had you mentioned the special occassions, bday, anniversary etc, when you returned the itinerary?

Glad to hear your concierge stay was enjoyable.  I really enjoyed the pictures.

Our kids were with us at check-in, so that might have helped to get the pails.  There is a whole stack of them behind the concierge desks, so if you don't get one innocently ask them about the pails.

I did mention the special occassions both to our TA and to the trip planner.

If you have any other questions, just ask.  I may even get the day 3 trip report written and posted.

Hi!  Thanks for the nice report.  You may have posted it some where else, but could you please tell me what room you were in?  I'm still between LV 1st or 3rd floor.  Hope we are lucky enough to have Wendy when we arrive at the Poly in October!
Thanks!  Tracy :)

By the way, your girls are cuties!
