Mouseke-Poll: Should Eisner stay or go?

Do you agree with Roy E. Disney that it is time for Michael Eisner to resign or retire from The Walt Disney Company?

After you vote you're welcome to add your comments about this. Also see the discussion about this here on the Disney Echo.

Registered Disney EchoEars (and not Guests) may vote once in this poll. After voting you will be shown the current vote totals. Note: If you click the button that says...

...to view the totals before voting, you will not be able to vote later (because seeing the current voting patterns would have an influence on the outcome of the poll). You may only vote once.

(This note originally said something else, I've changed its content)

I misread the voting question. I was thinking it was saying, "Should ROY DISNEY step down or stay with Disney", so I answered accordingly without voting yet. I'll go vote now.

I'm not handling this whole news very well tonight, my mind's kinda full so I misread it. I'm worried about Roy and his family and the Disney legacy in general and its future. :tear:

I read Roy's letter, and I agree completely with the reasons he came to the conclusion that he feels Michael Eisner needs to move on, even though when he first started with Disney he was exactly what the company needed at that time.

No more. Please step down, Mr. Eisner.

I went ahead and just added my vote now that I read the voting question properly, as mentioned in my corrected post above. Sorry if anyone accidentally misunderstood my earlier  reaction before, which was supposed to be offering support for Roy Disney, as I in no way support Eisner and never personally have. But I won't go into that.

:flag2: First time posting, and what a sad and disturbing event to post on!  As a life long lover of all things Disney AND a stockholder, I am appalled at this turn of events.

I totally agree with Mr. Disney's comments in his resignation letter ... Michael Eisner: for the good of the company, please leave before you do further damage!

Disneyphiles everywhere have endured alot of embarrassing business decisions over the past few years (most recently Bad Santa).  How much mud does Michael Eisner plan to drag this once great company thru?  And how much longer does he think we will put up with this?  I can guarantee that this is NOT the company Walt Disney envisioned.

:(   I agree Eisner was what they needed then.  But for it to come to this, he needs to go.....   I don't think he will go easily though, too many others seems to back him... all they care about is the money...

I agree that Eisner should go.  I think he should announce when he plans to retire, even if it is not immediate.  Then it can end all the speculation and rumors that I'm sure are circulating around the company right now.   What scares me is who would follow.  Who knows what their vision for the company might be?

Will you let me work with Cast relations at the parks if you get the job Goofyteer? I can think of alot of things to do! :D

I wonder what all the cast members in the parks think of all this anyways? Or have they all been sworn to secrecy for the moment? :hush:

My friend who works at WDW IT told me that there was a group of managers were at a Holiday Party where they showed a video of both Roy and Michael.  Roy's video was meet with cheers and Michael's video was met with boos...need I say more :D

My own opinion on the matter is that Eisner should have stepped down a long time ago and I have felt that way for atleast 5 years.  He was good for the company when he first was brought on in the 80's but after Frank Wells died , he has been on a power trip and has done very little to help the company go the way that Walt would have wanted it to go.

I am looking forward to the day he is booted out of the company...and pray it comes soon

end
