Join The Studio Chapter on November 16th as we take a trip to Japan...but don't go to the Tokyo Disney Resort! Chapter member Marc Spignese will take us away from Tokyo on a tour of some of the notable theme parks of central Japan. Our first stop will be a park called Nara Dreamland; if imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, Disney ought to be very flattered by this near copy of Disneyland built in the 1960s ! From there, Marc will be taking us on a tour of Universal Studios Japan, showing us some of the rides, shows, and attractions of the recently opened park. If you aren’t ready to hop on a flight to Japan by the time Marc is done with his presentation, you must not have a passport! In addition to Marc’s presentation, we’ll also be having another “Member Show and Tell”, a raffle for Disney prizes, and refreshments.
Last but definitely not least, the Chapter is asking its members and our guests at the November meeting to show their holiday spirit by bringing a can or box of non-perishable food or a new unwrapped toy. Items collected at the meeting will be donated in the Chapter’s name to the Salvation Army, a shelter in the San Fernando Valley, or another charity chosen by the members of the Chapter. As a reward for your generosity, everyone who donates will receive a free ticket for our raffle. Join us and help create a bit of “Disney magic” for the less fortunate in our community!
A fascinating presentation, a raffle, refreshments, and a chance to give back to the community - our meeting has everything you need to have a fun and exciting afternoon! Juroko-nichi ni kimasen ka? (Won't you join us on the 16th?)
The Studio Chapter meets at 1:00 p.m. in the Mary Pickford Education Center at the Autry Museum of Western Heritage. The Autry Museum is located in Griffith Park (directly across from the L.A. Zoo) at 4700 Zoo Drive (Western Heritage Drive), near the intersection of the Golden State (5) and Ventura (134) Freeways. There is plenty of free parking. Non-members are welcome to attend.
