I heard from friends who just returned from poly-concierge that attitudes were poor and there was no more bottled water available... We have been many times and are looking to return in Feb any one else  have this experience or can tell us that water is available and they had a terrific experience at concierge which we have grown accustomed too  thank you

We just returned from a stay at the Poly concierge (see trip report 11/7 - 11/12).  I have nothing but great things to say about the staff.  They were always more than helpful, in the lounge, or at the reception area.

As for the water, most times it was in a bin, on ice, near the soda.  A couple of times it was not, and I was a little upset, until I realized that the water was placed on one of the side tables, next to the juices and candy.

If you feel something is not available, just ask, and the staff will head out back and get it for you, if available.  My 8 year- old son loves the fact that they will get him a carton of milk from the back room, it makes him feel special.

No complaints from our family.  We can't wait to return.

I was told that all the same things are being offered that were in the past and they have always had water and soda out in the lounge. As far as the attitudes of the staff, well it is mostly the same staff that has been there since the early to mid 90’s and they have always been more than helpful and friendly.

I been told by friends who just stayed at the Poly Concierge last week that two things disappointed them. One was that water was not available any longer and two that everything was now offered in plastic, plastic dishes, spoons, forks cups for coffee and plastic cups for wine. Kind of takes the pampering away.

The concierge will not have the small water bottles available any longer. There are only the larger bottles to get water from at the lounge. This was not the Polynesian's decision. It was because of the distributor Disney is using.

Aloha

Hmmmm...that's crummy!!  :uhoh: Not to disagree with you, Tikiman (because you are definitely the KING of Poly!! ),  but I can't help but wonder if what you were told was the "official" answer.  I'm sure the Poly concierge CM's did not make the change, but I can't help but wonder if "corporate" hasn't made another little cut to their budget......I mean, come on!!!  You mean to tell me that DISNEY can't TELL their distributors EXACTLY what they want!!????  As powerful as Disney is, I imagine they could get the water tinted pink if they wanted it......

I have seen many people "load up" on many water bottles....I really think this is Disney's way of stopping that....and saving a few more bucks!

JMHO....... :thewave:

Karen,

I agree that Disney could have them do what ever they want but If you notice no other concierge had water out before when the Polynesian did. I know the answer I got was not an “official” answer because the person I asked gives me the straight answer always. All I am saying is that it is not the Polynesian management that decided to eliminate the water bottles. It was a decision that came from resort distribution which is run outside the Polynesian management. There have been many changes due to cutbacks in the last 2 or 3 years that the staff has to experience the anger of the guests even though it is not their fault or decision.

Also don't ever feel you can not dissagree with me. I don't know everything. There are many here that know much about the resorts including you.

Aloha

Steve
