My dear EchoFriends!

I am so sorry I have taken so long to send a report. I have been up to my neck in responsibilities since returning, but I have a few moments and am really hoping to write a word or two about my trip. It is thanks to this wonderful site, that I was able to fulfill a father's dream!

For those who don't know me... I was fortunate enough to have won a WDW vacation. I bring this up (for the last time, I promise) because I think it's important to know my trip was completely free, and therefore may slant my thoughts and feelings about the Polynesian and WDW. All I can say is, I have been to WDW about a dozen times in my 38 years, but never as a Dad. I traveled with my DW and 2 DD's (2 & 4) and I am here to tell you that my experience was absolute heaven!

Let me start off by saying that my trip ran from 10/21 thru 10/26. We won a 4 night trip to any resort we wanted and we chose the Polynesian (I owe you so BIG Tikiman). We purchased the extra night and enjoyed our stay in the Tahiti Longhouse, LV Room 3017. An absolutely PERFECT room! My 4 year old enjoyed sleeping on the day bed and watching the Castle change colors as she went off to sleep. My 2 year old loved Disney storytimes on TV before falling off to dreamland. The two of them have now been home 2 weeks and still play 'Disneyworld' by pretending that their bedroom has a beautiful lanai, with the castle in the distance.

Let me try and give a quick day-by-day review of the parks we conquered each day:

Tue: PM: Polynesian relaxation (Electrical Pageant & Fireworks)

Wed AM: 9-2 Animal Kingdom
Wed PM: 6-8:30 Magic Kingdom

Thu AM: 8-12 Magic Kingdom (including CRT)
Thu PM: 6-10 Epcot

Fri AM: 9-8:30 Disney Studios (including Fantasmic)

Sat AM: 8-12 Magic Kingdom (including CRT)
Sat PM: 5-9:30 Epcot
Sat PM: 10-12 Magic Kingdom

Sun AM: 8-10:30 Magic Kingdom
Sun AM: 11:40 PS 1900 Park Fair

As this schedule shows, we really pushed the limits and my two little ones were excited about every single minute of the ride. I promise to write more as soon as I possibly can and try to explain each day in detail. Let me leave this posting as a marker to return to and update you on all I can. In the mean time, please leave questions as I'd love to help all, but especially those traveling with young ones.

I keep thinking about the Disney "Unofficial Guide" - the one that has the chapter 'The Agony and the Ecstacy'. I can assure you that my trip was absolute nirvana - my only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.

To Rich and Steve, Thanks for everything! Just in case it's never hit you the impact you have on the people who visit your websites, let me say for one that my family will have cherished memories forever because of the fantastic work you do. I can never thank you fully for making my vacation a dream come true. Mahalo!

I'm sorry... I already forgot! I've got pictures!!

These are not the best, but they give you a glimpse - and there are a couple (like my wife and girls in front of the castle) that are simply priceless. ENJOY!

Yoo Hoo, Jack!

Hey watch out! You were sitting facing' the wrong way on that horse!

I never knew you were such good friends with Pluto. He sure gave you a big wave when he saw you at the Polynesian while he was on the ferry!

Welcome back and thanks for starting a trip report, "Cyril!" And congratulations again on winning such a great prize!

OK here's the big question for you...  While waiting for your bus on the way to Animal Kingdom did you bump into someone you haven't seen in 20 years ;).

Hey Greg, I sure did!!!!
I was wondering if we'd run across each other on this board. You've done your best Basil of Baker Street work and 'ratted' me out! What a fantastic surprise it was to see you again after all these years. Just another reason why Disney is so magical.

You've really stuck it to me now. I am going to have an impossible task of matching your family trip report. I read every word and felt almost like I was back there experiencing it again. I'm glad you had such a great time.

Here's hoping to see you again very soon - preferably, when your "Disney2ndTimer"!

Wishing you and your family all the best,
Jack

Jack, I edited your message above to put a space before the

you had in there. Without spaces on either side, the text comes through rather than the switch-out to the MickEmoticon.

Jack,

Great report and the photos were great to look at. I especially like the photo of your view from the room. Excellent shot. I am glad I could help make your trip planning easier.

Aloha

It was great seeing you and your family as well  .  Amazing that we live one town away from each other and 20 years later the first time we see each other is at Disney !!

Steve!

I mean it, You were absolutely invaluable. Thank you so much! As for my photos.. My wife and I thought it would be great to upgrade ourselves to the digital revolution for this vacation. Problem is.. Our camera completely and totally killed us!!! I can't tell you how many times we were trying to take pictures, only to find out our camera wasn't willing to co-operate. For those of you out there who are thinking of a new camera for your Disney trip, BE VERY WEARY OF FUJI!!!.

The picture Rich spoke of with me the wrong way on the carousel - You can see me filming my wife and daughters using my Canon digital camcorder. I have 3 hours of video of our trip including fantastic footage of all the parks - but most importantly, the Polynesian Resort.

Steve, I know earlier this year you thought about taking down your site - Please, for the love of all that's holy - Don't do it! Looking at your site is the only thing that is helping me with my 'Post Disney Depression' You supply me with my daily fix and I love you for it!  :hearts:  No need to mention this to my wife Maureen or Tara   :blush2:
